Read about that Microslop ad for many hours, but only just now saw it. My god, it's even more obvious than people were describing it to be. Reminds me of the videos of the DOGE jackasses who when deposed were labeling things "DEI" but when questioned about what's not "DEI" knew they couldn't get away with saying "certain abled cis-het white males". #USpol #Fascism #WhiteSupremacy

Post decrying the lack of critical thinking has a screenshot of a quote attributed to a writer but with no citation either for the screenshot or the quote. (EDIT: When I do the labor of looking for it myself, it doesn't appear with a cite anywhere, even a foundation named for the writer, who says it's a real quote, but then links to the daughter's book for sale on Amazon rather than saying what page it's on in the book nor the context of the quote.) #Attribution

I think "don't trust the US (power structures)" is not a bad thing right now, but if that's the security and ethics lesson people take out of what is going on, in my opinion they are learning the wrong lesson and will remain vulnerable. Build systems (whether it's digital or in-person, whether it's computing or governing) that have resilience to being co-opted by those who are greedy, unethical, and loathe democracy, whether that's just...

:boosts_ok: Please boost these posts about the #FlamingoRevolution and the escalation of state violence in Albania. Because international attention for Albania is always very short attention span and the people in Albania are in real danger right now. Boost the toots here, and if you're also on other social media, put the links to YouTube there as well, with hashtag #Protest #Albania #FlamingoRevolution etc. Help bring the eyes of the EU and international community to this. Why the UN has just cut food aid to Gaza | DW News "Half a million Palestinians in Gaza are set to lose food assistance from the UN World Food Programme as funding shortages force major cuts. The WFP is reducing the number of people receiving monthly assistance from 1.6 million to 1.1 million, while food rations are being halved. A year after a ceasefire came into effect in Gaza, around two-thirds of its population still face crisis levels of food insecurity or worse. The WFP says the...

REPLAY: French union leaders urges strikes after meeting with PM Lecornu • FRANCE 24 English "The leader of France's hardline CGT union on Wednesday called for strikes after talks with Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu over fresh protests collapsed. As the country is reeling from last weekend's riots, the government offered "no measure or an acknowledgement of our demands" Sophie Binet, secretary general of the CGT, told reporters after a meeting betwee...

It's looking like I should have downloaded that interim iOS version while I could because now when I go into System Updates, the lowest it offers me is iOS 26. I don't want to upgrade, but there are so many apps that make you do higher versions. Is there a way to download an intermediate version of iOS and get it onto your phone that someone who is no longer a power user can handle?

RE: https://eldritch.cafe/@ml/117367431119606053 Thanks to the three folks who bought my music, esp those who did it with a big tip! That raised enough to pay for 2.5 PT appointments and every bit helps! If you want to help me with the things listed below (which pressures are still extant), you can donate at https://paypal.me/plantedu #BandcampFriday #MutualAid #Gratitude #Disability #Accessibility

:boosts_ok: I need to ask for aid again. I'm disabled, with no partner, no children, and little in-person community. I know everyone has a lot of needs right now and everyone's hurting. However, if you're able to spare something to help out, I'm grateful to all who've helped me get this far with trying to pay down the trike debt! 😚 Recent donations went to paying for PT appointments, which I'm still in the middle of. And I just found out today my landlord will now be...
