  While GNOME 50 is rightfully being celebrated today, it reminded me that I never posted about Déjà Dup 50. No big changes there, just a nice collection of bug fixes. But there are some exciting bits of news in Debian/Ubuntu land: Debian finally got the package back in “testing” (it had been blocked by some old Rclone security issues) and Ubuntu finally got Restic into main and switched the default backend to Restic. So stating with Ubuntu 26.04 there will be a gradual uptick in Restic backups...

I wish there were 10% more actual game you could do with it - as it is now, raid fights are the big challenge (and they are challenging). But regardless, it’s a very chill way to see random Wikipedia pages and click through to interesting ones. #Wikipedia

  Welp, I quit my job. My department was too all-in on LLMs and I just couldn’t stomach it anymore. I’ve got a gig for a few months fixing bugs in Inkscape, which is exciting! But after that, I dunno what’s next. Sounds like a terrible time to be an unemployed software engineer out there. 😑 Maybe a career change is in order.
