#gamedev #stereoscopic Lumps finally appear lump-shaped. They don't act lump-shaped yet, but it's just another iteration or two away.

Improving surface interactions so you can do more stuff when you land

Collisions are working much better and you can drive around on wild hills in dynamic gravity fields, it's lovely. LOD is improved a lot and will get even better soon. There's only one octave of noise but the bump mapping should show a high octave nicely and I can decide whether or not to include it in the physical surface shape for collision purposes.

How about grappling hooks? Shoooot obviously grappling hooks.

#gamedev #stereoscopic #bevy Instead of flying chaotically around more or less like gravitational bodies, lumps now organize themselves into huge semi-static structures. I've tuned it so that you can walk from one lump surface to the next. I have a bunch of climbing mechanics in the works.

What a cool sky. It just does that. Somehow everything just finds a really cool place to be and then it just chills there unless something major happens. I suppose the network probably transmits sound, and I suppose I should be able to read it, but they only update at 8hz so you'd need to be able to hear 4hz and lower. Still, interesting idea, and maybe I can use the signal for something. Space spiders, probably.

A little bit of texture makes the surface a lot easier to read. #stereoscopic #gamedev #bevy --

"Well, it doesn't need to be *perfect*, does it?" Yes. Yes, it did. Fuck.

Lumps now get these glossy patches where local gravity would prevent dust and grit from settling on the actual lump threshold. (Lumps are not composed of conventional matter.) #gamedev #stereoscopic --

It's easy to lose track of what's important so let's have a nice grounding, "Fuck Stephen Harper", followed by a "Shove It Up Mike Harris's Ass".

augh i have visited this same goddamn lump like six hundred times in a row now. if i don't fix this thing soon i'm gonna lose it.
