  Who else is noticing AI-generated illustrations in the real world appearing at new hairdressers, ice-cream parlors, kebap shops, butcheries, everywhere? Sure, there's no reason why AI slop should be confined to the online world. But as long as I will still be able to distinguish AI signs from non-AI signs, I will consider these AI stores/restaurants as inferior quality. Is that wrong? #AI

  @observer@socialhub.activitypub.rocks That's good thinking - thanks for sharing this and explaining TCO so clearly. We certainly have ideas on how to reduce the technical, moderation, and legal cost. FASPs are probably part of this. Our future Belgian foundation could help on legal and compliance topics. I believe the grandma-one-click-Gmail analogy is not perfect, though, because the exemplary grandma doesn't start their own email server on Gmail.

  Hi! Today is my first official day as the Executive Director of Mastodon, replacing @Gargron as CEO. I joined the Mastodon team more than 5 years ago, mostly working for Mastodon in the evenings on top of a 120% day job. I was the driving force behind the incorporation of the German non-profit, am a co-founder of the US 501c3 non-profit, and I have contributed to most of the fundraising success, which allowed us to expand the team.
