We need way more R folks looking into this. /1

  why is it only today I now understand that 1) bash functions can be *pasted* in to a session 2) they run with 'fun arg' and 3) are the same as C/R syntax with {} and ; for lines, or just newlines fun() { local a="$1"; echo "$a"; } fun abc abc I have a colleague who gave this talk once but I was distracted on some spatial code or whatever and I totally vagued on all of it. Now I need that Evi Nemeth wonderful book, those chapters on python...

  #RStats Once in a while, run R CMD check --no-examples and R CMD check --no-tests separately, with _R_CHECK_FORCE_SUGGESTS_=false. The default check ordering plus default Suggests-handling masks bugs that surface only in second-phase code or only when Suggests are absent.

  The deeper I get into Zarr and virtualization efforts the bigger the problem seems. There are some huge perspective gaps here, xarray and Zarr reinvented a lot of stuff but then success has prevented a deeper understanding of the landscape. It's like netcdf woke up from the dark ages and half-modernized. 1/
