#sourcehut combined with emacs eww is such a lovely combo. In general websites can make for very lovely TUIs if you design your HTML for it.

    Its interesting to come back to Minecraft 15-ish years later with my nephew only to discover that: - mods are unavailable (?) in this new "bedrock" mode - I cant play LAN because were both on the same Microsoft account (desktop and tablet). Also now there's a bunch of micro transactions obviously targeting kids. Its more like a mall than a game.

    It'd be fun to do a Open Street map cartographer day, where you gather some people and go out to chart out a city.

    Fossil's UI looks pretty neat in chawan. Unfortunately a lot of the buttons don't work, so you can't edit todos, wiki forums etc. directly from the TUI browser.

    I wired together a tiny url shortener. So any URL that I copy, I can shorten and store locally and then reference as url:Ayx3. Afterward, foot allows me to create hyperlinks so I can use [regex:url] regex=(url:[a-zA-Z0-9][a-zA-Z0-9][a-zA-Z0-9][a-zA-Z0-9]) launch=shortener goto ${match}

    I actually quite like PWAs. It's probably the nicest way to get an interface to my server up on android.

    Very happy with the ergonomics of my URL shortener. In Vim, Kak etc. I can select the URL and pipe it to | nc -N lab shorten. The URL is replaced with a shortened URL accessibly from my phone and laptop. Works very smoothly.

    I added Howm's comefrom links to my wiki system and Kakoune. Comefrom links are implicit hyperlinks. You define the term and its reference; wherever that term comes up in a text file, even outside the wiki system, the term is underlined and can be selected from Kakoune.

    I broke out an old utility from filed and made it into a dead simple sandboxing utility for shell scripts. https://git.sr.ht/~marcc/landdown The examples are quite self-explanatory: ``` #!/usr/bin/env landdown ro /bin ro /lib rwf /tmp/some-file.txt #!/bin/sh echo Edit > /tmp/some-file.txt ``` Or ``` #!/usr/bin/env landdown ro /bin ro /lib ro /etc/ssl rof /etc/resolv.conf connect 443 #!/bin/sh curl https://www.google.com ```

    “The climate of incomprehension leads men in management to treat computer matters as “mere technicalities"-- a myth as sinister as the public notion that computers are "scientific"-and abandon the kind of scrutiny they sensibly apply to any other company activities.” — Ted Nelson, Computer Lib

    We've run into a cultural situation where we've confused the symbol for the physical reality–the money with the wealth and the menu with the dinner. We're starving and eating menus. – Alan Watts, “The Process of Life” (lecture, IBM Systems Group Seminar, 1969)
