I really don’t understand how there’s a significant amount of people in this country who consider it disgusting not to shower daily but don’t bother washing their hands after using the bathroom (or do so without using soap). I never will understand.

the right hates trans people for existing the left hates trans people for their own lack of electoral success the center thinks these two sides should compromise meanwhile trans people hate themselves because everybody keeps telling them to and nobody sticks up for them anymore

I wear headphones while I brush my teeth so I can listen to music and have it be a slightly less miserable experience. But I keep ending up still wearing them when I get to bed. Which means I now have six pairs of various kinds of headphones next to my pillow.

This is a really interesting video to challenge some prejudices you might have (definitely did for me). Like rationally you know almost every country probably has *a* metal band and thus a most popular metal band. But seeing and hearing them is quite a different experience. And some of the ones from countries you wouldn’t expect go really fucking hard. I love it. Music is a beautiful thing. https://youtu.be/XB7L2YZ7cGM

Feel like this song and its music video are something fedi would be into so I’m sharing it. I’d categorize it as psychedelic rock if you insist on genres https://youtu.be/iZZaYkOG1Zk

Why does the US use 480 volts for three-phase (industrial) electrical supplies? I can’t imagine the extra 100 volts over 380 is worth the tradeoff in terms of now needing transformers for all the smaller loads you would be able to buy relatively standard 230 volt equipment for (control logic, lighting, etc etc). Instead they apparently use transformers to convert the 277 to 110 and sometimes even 230? What’s the historical reason? I’m not judging, I’m just curious!
