@chris@mstdn.chrisalemany.ca You're somewhat late to the party. This kicked in for me like a month ago. They started charging the US first and then apparently that was a success and they've moved on to Canada.

I just saw a gold-coloured cyber truck pulling a full-sized airstream. The most ridiculous thing I've seen in a long time.

Oh good, finally the ~cheap~ expensive Chinese EVs have arrived. https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/article/first-chinese-evs-arrive-in-canada-but-they-come-with-a-high-price-tag/ sigh

I wish they'd change the law to say people have to wear PFDs on smaller boats (including paddle boards) at all times. I don't get the theory that just having one in the boat is enough. If your canoe flips over it's not going to help you out.

But we don't want hydrogen trucks https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/article/exclusive-to-win-submarine-contract-south-koreas-project-beaver-proposes-manufacturing-hydrogen-trucks-in-canada/ It mostly sounds like they're offering us that because the US won't care, unlike an EV plant. But is it going to be like the Chinese electric bus plant? Just close it after a couple years.

Out for a run yesterday and I noticed squirrels licking a wet spot on the sidewalk. Someone had spilled a little bit of water or something. One squirrel did not want to move, instead I moved to the street lol. I guess we need rain if squirrels are licking the sidewalk.

I just saw a big fancy SAAB military craft commercial. Hanwha has really started a trend. At first I thought, has hanwha come out with another new commercial? I just saw a new one Monday. But this one had jets in it too, so I thought maybe not. There were all sorts of military vehicles, so I was confused.

I guess I need to start taking my rosemary plants outside to get them used to it again. This is the first time I've managed to keep them alive over the winter!

Post mother's day I now have 15 new plants to take outside everyday until it gets warm enough outside for me to plant them lol. Hopefully later this week. Rosemary plants will be joining the group later.

Are people still going to shop at sobey's now that they're getting rid of the maple leaves? There isn't one near me, so I almost never go there anyway. Although I do wonder what the new grocery store going up at Westgate is going to be. I haven't seen an announcement about it. https://www.cbc.ca/news/investigates/sobeys-loblaw-maple-washing-9.7196767

Hmm. Well, I attempted to book an appointment with my doctor and got one for tomorrow? Weird. I thought it would be a week or more. I tried to choose checkup but that wasn't an option so I'm obviously going to get told that tomorrow. I wrote checkup in the description though. Oh well. However, I'm impressed there were so many slots available! Maybe I can just book another slot for part two of the checkup ๐Ÿคž after tomorrow's.

Stupid humidity the past two days gave me a migraine. Also, partially my own fault for ignoring the warning signs but I didn't really think it was going to progress to a migraine. Sigh.

On the radio this morning, for the first time, I heard an ad for the Ontario Corps. I'm not entirely sure if I forgot their formation or I didn't realise they actually formed. I'm super curious what they've actually done since formation. Or are they still training and getting up to speed? Maybe others didn't realise they actually existed either, hence the ads. I would've thought they'd get a lot of signups in the past year.
