hot take, EVERY activitypub implementation should build an OICD connector just as #gotosocial https://docs.gotosocial.org/en/latest/configuration/oidc/ why you say? Imagine using my mastodon account in any server to login in any other mastodon server, pixelfed, lemmy, you name it ... single login

Folks, help me. #askfedi I need people who had a small event, hackathon, conference that require digital recognition to try badgefed and give feedback. I want to ace the UX experience. Send them my way, they can register here, and ping me and I will enable a full account. https://communitycredentials.org/register

Now @fediprofile supports images in recent posts even if rudimentary, how would you like this to work? #askfedi

I just added a new theme to @fediprofile , this time for those of your friends that want to showcase their portfolio of photos, so these are shown as a grid. All the links would continue to be there just not as the main character. #fediverse #activitypub

With AI-assisted development, the PRs are getting bigger and bigger, and I find that overwhelming. I’ve sinned there myself as well.

On today's unconference on the @fediforum @cypherhippie had this question about how much of an integration has @badgefed with mastodon. So, I added the link to the #fediverse profile in the badges wallet url, so it appears as verified in my mastodon profile! Thank you for the question!

It looks like #badgefed is having problems to serve requests! That is cool, but I was unprepared, so scaling the instance right now. Thanks for your patience! #fediforum

I think it's a good time to explain how we see @badgefed and @fediprofile, how they work together, and how #badges can use #ActivityPub and the #Fediverse. Also how this can help communities outside the fediverse! This is a quick overview of the architecture and ideas behind it. 🧵 1/ (thanks @johannab for the ask ...)

@fediprofile@social.vocalcat.com is designed to be that wallet. Because Fediprofile itself is an ActivityPub actor, it can follow badge issuers (again simplicity wins!). When it detects a badge issued to one of the verified profile URLs connected to the account, it automatically stores it (and optionally boost it). Users can then choose which badges to display. Users OWN their badges. This creates a low-friction identity layer. People who don’t want to run their own site can still have a p...

ActivityPub is also used for federation. Badge issuers (ActivityPub actors) can follow other issuers. When a badge is issued, a Create activity is federated. Other servers receive that activity and can store a local copy of the badge. This works very similarly to how Mastodon servers cache posts. Because of that, badges can also be: • revoked using the Delete activity • updated using the Update activity Again, this reuses existing ActivityPub verbs instead of inventing a new protocol or n...

I’m building a new tool and looking for volunteers to test it! A #fediverse linktree. It’s designed for two types of people: Normies / newcomers – Think of it like a free, privacy-respecting Linktree. No trackers, no ads. But here's the cool part: it's a Trojan horse for the fediverse. Your profile link is itself an ActivityPub actor. That means people can interact with it directly in the fediverse, and it encourages exploration of open platforms. Fediverse users, If you have...

If you are having issues accessing @badgefed in #github, there is an up-to-date #codeberg one I am planning to deprecate the github one, but I need to migrate the workflow actions that publish the #docker image first https://codeberg.org/mapache/badgefed
