Successfully moved over from Spotify to Qobuz and it feels great. I love the idea of a platform that pays their artists better and the sound quality is vastly superior

My photo yesterday seemed to be popular, possibly due to the overlap of people who love hot air balloons and the plains of South Africa. This is my full post and photoset from that day, a 50th birthday present from my mum. Includes dawn views and many animal sightings https://www.emminlondon.com/2024/05/safari-flight-air-ventures-hot-air-balloon.html #TravelTuesday #SouthAfrica #HotAirBalloon

I'm staying in the historic village of Hurstpierpoint and went for a walk along their heritage trail today* 1. Lamb House - early 19C - first a coaching inn then a beer inn 2. Very old cottages which were originally catalogued in 16C 3. The Poacher Inn - originally known as The Cricketers and then The Queen's Head 4. Players Theatre - built as a chapel in 1817 and became the National School in 1819 * because who doesn't love waking up at the crack of dawn the morning after a concer...

Morning Mastonauts! I just boosted a post with a video of a photographer taking photos of temple cats interlaced with his actual photos. It is uncredited. I'm just returning from a session down the rabbit hole where I tried to find the photographer but no luck. Can anyone help out? Heard Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb" playing through a van window on my walk home yesterday. So naturally I need to now play Pink Floyd for the foreseeable future. Starting with The Wall and then probably Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Final Cut and maybe Momentary Lapse of Reason Photo is my print of Wish You Were Here Desert Man in Bowler - it looks over me while I work #AmListening #NowPlaying

Unexpectedly good Monday today: 1. Booked leave for late November and over Christmas and it was approved straight away. 2. Went to a new hairdresser and got a great cut 3. Hit a streak of 156 weeks on Peloton. It's 3 years since I rage-bought a pair of cycling cleats to try put some use into my husband's neglected lockdown ᵽᵾᵽᵽɏ Peloton bike. I've only missed 3 days on the app since - once with Covid, twice with depression. In addition to cycling, I do rowing, strength and mobility...

@beecycling@wandering.shop um, that's weird because I got jacket potatoes in my last order that I hadn't ordered. Luckily we use them normally anyway but wondering if the retailers are trying to shift potatoes?

Bit of a conundrum today for #MountainMonday. My photos of Oftenåsen from the ground weren't very inspired, so I present the view of Steinkjer and its fjord from the summit #Norway

Trondheim is so beautiful. I just can't get enough of the old, colourful warehouse and the tranquil reflections on the river Nidelva. There's a reason Norway has become one of my favourite countries on Earth #norway #norge #trondheim #nidelva #trondelag #TravelPhotography

A 3-week old screech owl took a flying leap at me today and climbed up my chest to sit on my shoulder. She then climbed up my ear with her predatory talons and sat on my head. How's your Friday going? #ScreechOwl #OwlsOfMastodon #SuperbOwls

Cats are absolutely fuming with me. I rescued a mouse from them and let it out into the front garden. We have cat fencing, so the cats aren't roaming the neighbourhood terrorising local fauna, but somehow mice still make their way into the garden. Ideally, the local housing association should control the mice in the nearby apartments (because we all know how toxic mouse droppings are) but my instinct is always to save them #CatsOfMastodon

Someone needs to tell smart watch manufacturers that often, it's not stress or vigorous exercise that results in interrupted sleep. No, it's your three cats taking turns to alternately purr-bomb you, eat your hair or tap your nose at 3am for food.

I was asked my the Communications team at work to participate in African World Heritage Day on Tuesday. I'll share my post here on the day but thought some of the photos I sent were actually quite lovely. This one is of Johannesburg in spring when the jacaranda is blooming. If I recall correctly, I took it through my rose-tinted sunglasses. Any Jo'burg photographers on here? I'd love to connect. I've been back in UK for almost 20 years but I spent 25 years in...
