Do you want to overwhelm cybersecurity personnel? Just spray their systems with thousands of generic exploits using general scanners. I know what I’m talking about. This tactic works surprisingly well.

I have been &quot;vibe coding&quot; a lot lately. The first thing I&#39;m realizing is that we feel a kind of rush, seeing how fast we just add new features, but yes, we do lose part of the emotional ownership that real code written by our flawed brains provides. The other thing is that it&#39;s very easy to lose encapsulation. I don&#39;t know why, but this happens. I suspect that it&#39;s due to the agent not sending a global specification of the software we are develop...

I have some old projects (and when I say old, I really mean old) that are currently in maintenance/support mode and still being used by our customers. The issue I’m facing with these legacy projects is that I still haven’t had the courage to use AI, so I keep reverting to old-school programming when working on them. To be honest, most of the changes I can implement faster using my own knowledge than by trying to come up with a careful prompt. But this is a sign of my lurking lack of trust on AI.

Dear developers, fear not! You have the power to **not** use AI! Yeah, I was thinking how miserable my retirement could be, then suddenly, the thought that we can just open a terminal, launch vi, write a Makefile and use gcc, and start writing code like we used to, felt like a warm relief.
