A new build of littleFedi (2026.10.13) is out! We've made several changes based on reports from our friends on this instance, feedback from those who have started self-hosting, and code reviews by the Little Computer People. Thank you, @dch@bsd.network One of the peculiarities of littleFedi is that it was developed and tested first on the BSDs, then on illumos, and only later on Linux. The first public instance, my own @stefano@rpi0w.stefanomarinelli.it account, runs on a Raspberry Pi Zero W with NetBSD. I don’t think many social platforms have started out on NetBSD in recent years. #NetBSD #FreeBSD #littleFedi #Fediverse

As promised, the littleFedi source code will become publicly available in about a week. We will publish a snapshot of the complete source tree, together with some basic instructions to build and run it. Pre-built binaries will also be provided. This will not yet be a proper littleFedi release. Documentation still needs work, testing needs to be expanded, and several things need to be cleaned up before we can call it that. But the important part is that the code will finally be out there....
