With the news of #Anthropic destroying millions of books to train their #AI resurfacing, the most immediate conclusion is quite obvious: willingly or not, #Claude users are accomplices to this corporate crime against humanity. The second is also obvious: those who use their products and don't even try to replace it with alternatives, are as guilty as Anthropic themselves.

In #Devlog 03 of Hidden Waifus, my #Cozy first #Godot game, the rework on lights is getting closer to it's end, with another one being on the roadmap by the implementation of shadows. But not everything are just reworks, there are also new upgrades on the Gallery and a nice new menu: the Waifus Radio. Great things are coming to the project! Trying to repair my broken phone, a Samsung Galaxy A03 core, made me absolutely despise "modern" phone hardware. Each step made me value more and more PCs. (most) Cellphones are the ultimate incarnation of enshitification, pieces of trash intentionally made to be discarded for a new model. You never hate Big Tech enough.

After recommending #Matrix as the best #opensource alternative to the most popular chat/call app of today, it's a great time to publish a step by step #tutorial on how to use it. This tutorial was made with the @unredacted@unredacted.social Matrix instance. https://lily_linck.codeberg.page/_BlastyLily/tutorials/joining_the_matrix.html

Sometimes #opensource also involves lots of frustration. My current one is trying to implement the Reuse specification on a project, while the tool simply ignores the REUSE.toml file - marking the images that should be covered by this license as if there was none. If it's already this complete failure with a small scale test on a smaller project, maybe it's better to just give up on this dysfunctional "standard" entirely.

After about a week and a half of work, my #opensource website no Codeberg is finally online! My plan is to host the same articles I posted to Odysse there and new content (specially tutorials) on both, but first I'll have to work on a converter from Markdown to HTML. https://lily_linck.codeberg.page/

In parallel to my work on my first game, there are a few small update on my pure #css project worth mentioning: the new Theme Selector, Table of Contents and Return to Top components, along with the project now following the SPDX/Reuse standard. https://lily_linck.codeberg.page/LilyCss/

My first #indiegame now has a website, (mostly) made with pure #css and semantic #html with a library I developed from scratch some time ago. To keep things simple, it follows some of the folder structure used on the #godot branch of the project, making a nice bridge between #gamedev and #webdev. Since this is an #opensource project, I hope my work can help other developers in the future. https://lily_linck.codeberg.page/Hidden-Waifus/

It is refreshing to see people fighting against the #censorship of #ageverification with a protest #linux distribution and well-written references to teach others about the theme. Real change begins by combining attitude, creativity and bravery. To me this is a prime example of this combo. https://agelesslinux.org/

One of the simplest measures against government/corporate #censorship is to change your #DNS, but you can use a stronger second layer of security atop of that: enabling DNS over HTTPS/TLS. This article from Mullvad helped to improve my days with the feeling of digital #freedom, making concept easy to understand with easy to follow steps. https://mullvad.net/en/help/dns-over-https-and-dns-over-tls

It's already been 10 months, since I exited my previous career as a web developer to finally follow the path I always wanted: develop games. For this project #godot is the engine of choice, for two reasons: easy to learn and accessible to non-developers, like my artist best friend - who makes most character designs. It' also an #opensource game, that can serve to help other learn from our experience in #gamedev. Link to the repo: https://codeberg.org/lily_linck/Hidden-Waifus

After little less than a week, my #opensource Pure #CSS library finally has a first #release. It a complete reinvention of another pure CSS project I started ... 11 years ago. 😶 The project is at: https://codeberg.org/lily_linck/LilyCss

After some research and help from another #FOSS developer, my Pure #CSS project finally has it's own Codeberg Page as a live-demo of what options it brings to build semantic #HTML5 webpages. https://lily_linck.codeberg.page/LilyCss/
