Remember when Scotty helped a 20th-century engineer with the foundation for creating #TransparentAluminum? It’s no longer fiction. It’s called ALON. #StarTrek https://www.surmet.com/transparent-armor

Did #Hulu and/or #tvOS 26.4 do something to audio output, particularly if your receiver/amp supports Atmos? I’m not sure how high the volume number units go up on my Onkyo, but I have historically watched shows in the 60-70 range. Recently, although volume may briefly start low, it very quickly self-rises and the Onkyo volume is now in the low to mid 40s. A setting of 40 is what I defaulted it to turn on at—audible but not blasting. If this is a new norm, I may have to change default to 30.

RE: https://mastodon.social/@daringfireball/116398656229552758 I have used this feature exactly this way for MANY MANY years and it always astounds me to discover people who didn’t know it existed.

Scotty had a firm mantra for telling Captain Kirk how long it would take for engineering to complete a task. I have failed at following his advice, and I now find myself being asked to print an enormous job tomorrow instead of several days lead time—and it is needed for distribution Friday. Yes, I can do it, but it cuts into the schedule I was trying to maintain for other preparations of this big annual event. And leaves zero wiggle room if copier goes down. #BusyAtWork #TalesFromThePrintShop

A particular favorite product finally went on the infrequent, but really good BOGO sale at Winn-Dixie during their sale period 2 weeks ago. But, the store was consistently out of stock. I collected a rain check, but they remained out of stock all during last week’s sale. Today, first day of new sale week, it is back on BOGO. Wonder if it’s because they knew it was out of stock for so long. Anyway, I picked up four packages, but I’m keeping my rain check to restock again later.

@gedeonm@mastodon.social I feel you. Wondering what it'll cost me on my car. Something is making the fan motor for the A/C freeze up. Takes a while before I can coax it to start running.

@gedeonm@mastodon.social @CStamp@mastodon.social Spot on. I like to think I wouldn’t celebrate anyone’s actual death, but damn straight I’ll celebrate the end of evil from a person who has died.

@flexibits May I submit for consideration a possible future feature that mimics the Split View display of Outlook calendar? I manage delegate calendars for meeting room reservations and sometimes it would be helpful to display the four rooms displayed separately like this. Or does something already exist that can approximate this?

I wonder how long before #AppleIntelligence finally figures out that 90% of the time when I go to move a message from my e-mail inbox, the destination is a previously created subfolder named for tomorrow’s day (or Monday if the current day is Thursday) and offers that folder as a default suggestion.
