@dirtwizard666 you do a great thing here, it’s shit out there, do what you need to do and take care of yourself

Lots of cone flowers in my small but mighty container garden, plus not-yet-blossoming swamp milkweed. Best thing about it is they come back every year and need very little maintenance aside from watering and occasional deadheading. #bloomscrolling #pollinators #gardening

Saw this little guy today (okay, not so little) and took a bit to realize it had a huge tackle in its beak! I got closer to see if it was hooked / tangled or just very partial to this fish-shaped piece of trash. It didn’t seem to be in distress and flew off before I could verify. Not sure if there’s a rule about leaving cut lines in the water, but there ought to be! I’m tired of seeing dead seagulls in the neighborhood 😔 #boston #birds #litter

Today is a true spring day, so we went on a hike in the Middlesex Fells. Saw an amusing mushroom, a lady’s slipper (!), and some very happy dogs (not pictured)

Feeling very left out in Southie as I neither heard nor felt the mysterious big boom. I guess that happens when you’re reading a good book? #boston

Anyone else in the #boston area noticing an uptick in dead / dying trees this spring? This one on Newbury St just now, but in Seaport and Southie it seems like every other one. Just me? Something more localized? It’s really depressing 😔🌳

I've been funemployed for ~6 weeks now and a bit amazed at how much I've managed to get done in a short amount of time. Creative work, home improvements, self work... and still recharging the batteries. The key thing that's helped me keep momentum without (further) burning myself out is a workplace habit I carried into this period: a simple daily todo list. (1/3)

Usually I just donate things I no longer need but occasionally I prefer to sell first. In the past I could put something on Craigslist and it would be gone in a day. This no longer seems true, even after 2+ price drops. What are people using these days to sell stuff locally? I don't/won't use Meta stuff, so Facebook Marketplace is a no-go. Are there any other recs? #Boston #secondhand #resell

Day 2 at #PAXEast 2026! Power-walked straight to Omegathon round 2 (Code Names). Looking forward to another fun day!

Cruised around Boston Harbor today and saw some winter wildlife, including seals, scoters, eiders, and a snowy owl (!). Phone camera not suited to that task but the scenery in general was very moody and cool. Thankful it was a “warm” 30ish degrees on the water.
