Everything is nice and calm as Iran considers the U.S. peace proposal. It's a good thing the U.S. Administration likes to lay low and be calm over the weekends, we wouldn't want any psychotic self-dealing lunacy on a Saturday.

Fate, it seems, is not without a sense of irony. “The most fossil fuel-friendly government in recent U.S. history has shown us all just how risky reliance on oil and gas can be — and taught the world that true energy security lies in accelerating toward a cleaner, electrified future.” https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/01/opinion/oil-crisis-iran-electric-solar.html?unlocked_article_code=1.XlA.240k.MpkE9q5FNDiG&smid=nytcore-ios-share

“The Treasury Department on Friday temporarily lifted sanctions on Iranian oil that is currently at sea, authorizing it to be sold to most countries…lifting the sanctions would add about 140 million barrels of crude to the oil market.” So at $100 / barrel, that’s $14 billion. Or in Shahed drones ($50K) that’s 280,000 drones.

My niece comes to the U.S. most years from Europe to visit her grandfather. This year she was stopped at the airport, taken into an interrogation room, accused of being a prostitute, had her phone taken and scanned, and released. You know, in case you were wondering why tourism to the U.S. is down.
