RE: https://mastodon.online/@isotope239/116959486971079258 Saw this post and was reminded of a young leucistic crow I met this summer.

Omg! I just got the news that ”our” ring-billed gull has successfully brought up two chicks together with a common gull. This is so cool! Here’s a link to a video about it on Facebook (with talk in Swedish and subtitles in English): https://www.facebook.com/reel/1583787073399174/

Still following the Norwegian ospreys. I’m so happy there are still three chicks! Yr is the oldest, then Bris and Sol is the youngest. Sure there are sibling aggression. Mainly towards Sol. But Sol is very clever and usually waits for the older siblings to eat before demanding to be fed. https://www.youtube.com/live/egjxEzyTi_I

Been meeting a lot of redshanks lately. They’re really fierce birds. I’ve seen them attack gulls, who of course is a real threat. But I also saw one attacking a tiny meadow pipit, just cause it caught an insect a bit too close to their chick who was foraging. A bit excessive maybe. 😅

Is it a rule that if you don’t bring your camera you will find really cute baby birds? Luckily I had my phone. 😮💨

A big group of barnacle geese landed in the water right in front of me so I sat down to get some photos. I quickly noticed that they all have their uniquie differences. No geese look exactly like the other. It felt like a game to spot the difference between them. 😁

Love having the black cap in my local park again. Ps. Anyone else having the urge to shout: “Welcome back!” whenever you notice a new freshly migrated bird?

The other day I found these pochards which were completely new to me. Took quite a lot of research and two train trips including several hours of searching to find them. Worth it though! 🤎

Starting watching the live stream for the Norwegian Ospreys this morning. The nest has been empty but now suddenly an osprey landed! So exciting! It looks like it’s not one of the regulars. But we’ll see what happens.🦅 https://www.youtube.com/live/JhaMWVDmNXo

Tried photographing starlings but I only got these really dark shots of shapes high up in trees. Ugh. But then suddenly one of them decided to perch right next to me and started talking. Such a sweetie. But maybe felt sorry for me?

I traveled to the south of Sweden today. And this one turned up totally unexpectedly when I was looking for moorhens and little grebes. Walking around casually along a little stream next to the river. So cool! 🤎
