@EposVox Interesting insight. When I got my first IBM PC in the early ‘80s, I sat at it with a book about DOS and taught myself. Learning DOS made a huge difference in understanding how the computer worked. Ditto a Unix book and the early internet. Willingness to experiment was important, too.

@chespace I’ve been doing the same, a few at a time. It takes a while. I wish I could delete retweets, as well, but it’s not letting me.

I’m furious at ActivisionBlizzard for being so reprehensible I can’t in good conscience give them my money, which means I’m shut out of the game where I spent actual years of my life and that feels like home.

Anyone know why all my inline images are broken? I haven't changed any settings, and I can see the images if I open them in a new tab. This on both Chrome and Edge browsers, as well as Metatext on iOS. These aren't hidden, sensitive images, just every image.

This place is essentially broken for me, because no images will load either on two web browsers or my iPhone. I used to be able to click the image and open in a new tab on the PC, but now I'm getting blocked from that because it's seen as a "dangerous website." I'll keep checking back to see if it's fixed, but can't really participate with this mess of broken images taking up most of every page.

@fern Hi. Thanks for replying. It seems to be ok on Geekdom.social/explore. It happens on Chrome and Edge on my PC and was happening on Metatext on my phone, but seems to be ok on Metatext now. I haven't changed any settings on my PC, network, or Mastodon. I also have my virus scanner under control for every other website, so I don't know why it would single out mindly.social. My ISP may have sneaked something in to make my life difficult.

@fern @Ishtarmuz @RobynMorrisonME Something called AT&T Active Armor was causing the problem. I turned it off -- I have plenty of other internet security and antivirus -- and now everything's working. So, thanks again for your help!

Packing to move from the house I've lived in for nearly 30 years is a lot of work. Looking forward to the new house, though.
