To think. A decade ago I was stress-diagramming triples, sitting through endless webinars about linked data and now I’m using…Meridian? Is this what was foretold? 😂

As always, I’m a big fan of Philly’s multilingual voting stickers and that голосую is rooted in the same Russian word as voice.

I have a lot of state forest photos to share but most importantly, here is a red eft (newt) that was walking around the camp site. #amphibians

I can’t decide which I like better, so I’m posting both. Pollen fluorescing on a mayapple. #bloomscrolling

It’s performance review season and self appraisals make me want to hide tightly under a rock. I have nothing to be anxious about and yet…

More UV wildflowers. I know chlorophyll fluoresces red, so I’m unsure why a different jack-in-the-pulpit reflected a blue. #bloomscrolling

“And if you take the gap between the wealthiest Roman senators and the average person in Imperial Rome, who was either a slave or a small farmer, the ratio of their wealth was about 16,000 to one. If we fast-forward to today in the United States, and we take the average person in the Forbes 400 compared to the median person in the United States, that has exploded to 140,000 to one.” https://www.democracynow.org/2026/5/27/the_blind_spot

Can someone explain how a company like MetLife can exist to pay out lump sums for things like hospital indemnity and critical illness insurance…but employer based insurance leaves you with all these costs in the first place? I will genuinely never understand any of this.

This really guts me. Persepolis was foundational and I’ve given every younger person in my family a copy over the years. https://www.theguardian.com/books/2026/jun/04/marjane-satrapi-creator-of-persepolis-and-acclaimed-french-iranian-artist-dies-aged-56

My husband called me while I was at the gym, which is pretty rare unless it’s an emergency. It was. One of the babies hatched!

Oh hey, it’s solidarity week! I voted to join USW because I genuinely get satisfaction helping our research community and seeing our incredible medical students succeed. I get to do cool things and work with really kind people. I might even dare to say I’ve conquered Sundayitis. Joining a union means you’re committed and you want to stay. Fair contract now!

I wouldn’t comment directly on anyone’s #iNaturalist observations but I’ve noticed a lot of people grabbing trilliums to orient the blossom for a better photo. They are super fragile and their roots are easily trampled, too. The excitement about finding a treasure is real but take care 😇 #bloomscrolling
