I have been waiting 33 days for Microsoft to finish reviewing a browser add-on for Edge. The Maybe Later Renamer does one thing and does it adequately: when the browser encounters a button labeled "Maybe later," it instead renders it with the label "F*ck all the way off." The add-on is available for Firefox and Chrome. Microsoft rejected it. https://fatwo.lol

Wild story about how a small human error and a mid-sized AI error in LA compounded into a nationwide alert among police departments using Flock cameras. A car reviewer in Minnesota got caught up in it. https://www.thedrive.com/news/how-flock-cameras-wrongly-tracked-me-for-days-over-stolen-plates-and-sent-police-after-me #Flock

RE: https://cloudisland.nz/@rmi/116523935405127267 @ingrid@everything.happens.horse We can just assume an initial cap and terminal punctuation and call it a sentence. "Strokey-beard waffling," brilliant.

Interesting job opportunity for the right community builder: the Little Free Library organization is hiring a customer service specialist. https://jobs.minnesotanonprofits.org/job/customer-service-specialist-saint-paul-minnesota-107865/hash/7865a4cbda6c30a97c1fdd6d70d59cec #LIttleFreeLibrary

A very #Minneapolis day: bought beans at The #Roastery, a basement coffee roaster across the street from #Annunciation school, where fleeing children sheltered from a shooter; then up Chicago Avenue past George Floyd Square to have lunch at the Post Modern Times Cafe, which fed an entire community (except ICE!) during Metro Surge. The restaurant has gone entirely to a pay-what-you-want model. https://mndaily.com/arts-entertainment/free-meals-for-all-how-one-south-minneapolis-restaurant-is-uplif...

Jaguar XK-E — car of my dreams in adolescence — in the parking lot of the St. Paul Kowalski's. Guessing 1961? The paint job must have occurred in the intervening years; surely that color did not exist 65 years ago. #weirdcarmastodon

A single nasal spray vaccine could protect against all coughs, colds, and flus, as well as bacterial lung infections, and may even ease allergies, say US researchers. “The principle by which this vaccine works is a radical departure from the principle by which all vaccines have worked so far.” https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cx2g8rz7yedo Caveat: animal studies only so far. #Virus #Cold #Flu #Vaccine

@alice Huh, I know people who hate to answer a phone call, but the reluctance to place one? Something new.

TFW you have soft-close toilets at home and you're traveling and staying at a B&B and you use the toilet and fling down the seat / cover like you do at home and it's not soft-close and your ears still ring and you're lucky you didn't break the porcelain let alone the seat #FirstWorldProblems

Claimed possible direct evidence for dark matter in the form of WIMPs 500x the proton mass. Needs confirmation from other galaxies, which is presently lacking. https://www.theguardian.com/science/2025/nov/25/study-claims-to-provide-first-direct-evidence-of-dark-matter https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1475-7516/2025/11/080 #Physics #DarkMatter
