  I love wishing for a feature to exist and then finding out it already exists. "Always store cookies/data for this site" previously you had to go to settings and manually enter the domain for each site you want to keep the cookies on if your browser deletes cookies on exit. #librewolf

  Aside from their weird political stance #framework laptops are also just not that good. I mean they market their Laptops as Linux-friendly but then put in a fucking #mediatek wifi chip. Why??? Mediatek has had a long history of their chips not working well with open source drivers and it hasn't stopped recently. I am currently using my phone's wifi because this annoying wifi chip only gets like 50KB/s throughput in some places.| Nevermind that I had to replace my laptop's screen...

  Currently there is no way for applications to get or set the screen orientation on #linuxmobile #wayland. This results in things like not being able to take landscape pictures using the camera or games not having the correct orientation. I created a RFC wayland protocol to implement this.   I have acquired opinions on #ActivityPub vs #ATProto in strong favor of ActivityPub. Basically for ATProto to work you need one big entity (called the relay) to sift through all updates published on all servers and provide that to users as their feed. It also provides search and so on.   I have not talked enough about my favorite (relatively new) #systemd feature. `systemctl soft-reboot` this is such a great feature. I work with thin clients that loose their state after rebooting and with a soft-reboot I don't loose any installed packages. Also great if you use LUKS you won't have to enter your password again with a soft-reboot.

  Why does every site need to reinvent log in dialogs for some reason? You do a username/email field and a password field. Both visible at the same time! Not the password field popping up after I've inputted the username. And if you disable pasting from clipboard or interfere with my password manager putting in the data I'm going to fucking strangle you.

  Ok I'm switching back to #posh. Too many things just don't work (correctly) on plasma mobile. The portal file picker for example. Most of the time it does not open the file.

  I thought about writing my own mobile UI for Linux for fun but thinking about it, I did not find a suitable language to write it in.   Merz hat nicht recht. Wir sind nicht zu bequem geworden, der Deutsche Michel war schon immer zu bequem. Aber nicht in der Lebensweise sondern zu bequem zu Protestieren. Wenn man Gewerkschaftsarbeit macht merkt man, wie schwer es ist Leute zum Streiken zu bringen die es eigentlich echt nötig hätten.
