I got my other G-bike running last week, a 1977 Motobecane! This moped was a project bike that I restored from half junk in 2006, and then it sat in a shed for the past 20 years. It’s running again, but there’s still a significant problem with the centrifugal clutch (or “variator” if you’re European) that I need to disassemble and fix. I’m impressed with the LoRa RX of #Meshtastic. I don’t even have a real antenna up (yet), just the dongle antenna sitting in my basement office (near exterior wall), and here’s my map of nodes heard in the past 48 hrs. I got my orange g-bike purring and smoking away as it should! It still has some unresolved issues with the variator (clutch) but, hey, who doesn’t? As both mopeds are now running on their gas engines, I am leaving thoughts of electric modifications to some future time. 1977 Motobecane #moped @MLE_online
