  Between LinkedIn flagging my account and demanding I give them scans of government documents to prove my identity, and reddit blocking my IP on some range for anonymous browsing (and asking I log in, when I don't have an account), they're doing the work my willpower won't.

  During the pandemic, we started playing Yahtzee with my in-laws over zoom (now over meet). Around the same time, I started sshing into a telnet BBS - kind of a nostalgia thing, I'd done that a few times over the decades, including in the early 00s where a sysop from Montreal phoned me (!) to verify my account.   Have a group chat with a few friends from my last company. One just had a baby, so there were congratulations, then checking in on how people were. Asking how I was. And I answered honestly, "happiest I've been since I started as a dev in 06." Nothing's perfect but this is good. I'm grateful for it.
