New Preprint! Collaboration w/ @OpenAlex, @stefhaustein and @lariviev: An analysis of the suitability of OpenAlex for bibliometric analyses. High-level comparisons with Scopus and lots of details to better understand OpenAlex. Just as importantly, we also lay some "Remaining Core Questions for the Community". MORE NEEDED! Hopefully this is just the first of many studies that can help improve OpenAlex to make goals of @BarcelonaDORI a reality. https://arxiv.org/abs/2404.1766...

The Masters of Publishing Program at SFU (where I work!) now has a Scholarly Communications stream. If you're into #scholcomm , this could be a good program for you (or your students, or people you know!). Let's spread the word. Questions welcome! https://www.sfu.ca/publishing/master-of-publishing.html.html

Earlier this week, the #scholcommlab published a Statement of Support for PACBI Principles. With it, I reject my university's (SFU's) complicity in the ongoing genocide in Gaza, and call them out for restricting my ability to direct the work of @PublicKnowledgeProject in a principled way. www.scholcommlab.ca/pacbi/
