  I really think that crates.io needs a way for crate authors to independently publish advisories without having to go through advisory DB: it's a bottleneck. I can understand that that bottleneck helps to dissuade overzealous publishing of advisories for trivial matters, but I don't think that's an acceptable reason to not have a maintainer-driven system too. #rustlang

  I have been thinking recently about how language is a high entropy latent space and what it means. Even simple queries return with a deluge of SEO-ed AI slop, even on subjects that sorely deserve much more care and attention.   I am seriously impressed by #Forgejo's (the software powering #Codeberg and other GitHub alternatives) migration tool. Git history, issues, PRs, wiki data; all migrated perfectly from GitHub. You can link your GitHub account afterwards, and all migrated things move over to your user - so you can edit things like comments you originally wrote on GitHub.
