Another arty day, this time in New Plymouth. As well as many little galleries, shops, and the coastal pathway, we thoroughly enjoyed the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery / Len Lye Centre. The building itself is a fantastic piece of architecture; an intriguing design that seems, like the Tardis in Doctor Who, to be a lot bigger on the inside than the outside would have you believe. Athough a fair bit of the centre was closed (as new exhibitions were being built), I enjoyed Simon Ingram's beautif...

There's a local guy who I see every now and then. He rides a motorcycle with a #sidecar in which a handsome goggle-wearing canine chum rides with their ears flapping in the wind. Seeing them never fails to bring a smile to my face, as they did just now.

Off to see Public Service Broadcasting (with Coast Arcade supporting) at Powerstation this evening. Going with my good mate Dave Simpson who, when he's not at the day job, photographs live music in Auckland. When he's not doing that, he's one of the team behind From The Pit NZ, an annual curated exhibition of images of New Zealand musicians playing live in New Zealand. Right, I'm off to find my Pocomoto earplugs...😊 https://www.publicservicebroadcasting.net/ htt...

Autumn afternoon sunshine on an Auckland deck. Blue sky and warm sun, with a cup of tea, the papers and my love all within reach. #goldenmoments

After a long break, and inspired by @stojg's recent pâte fermentée adventures, I have taking up regular baking again. Here's a snap of today's freshly baked pane casereccio (bread of the house) ... the crust was still crackling as I took this photo. I used a blend of mixed grain and strong white flour to bake this loaf, loosely based on a 'no knead' recipe from American baker Suzanne Dunaway. #bread #pane #baking #noknead

Made fabada Asturiana to give me an excuse to use the bread to mop up the juices. #cosydinner #fabada

Today, I am running a DEI workshop module in an open plan workspace on the 29th floor. Pros: Great natural light and superb views across the harbour and city. Cons: Walking down 58 flights of stairs when the fire alarm sounds. *On a side note, while I appreciate that one shouldn't collect one's belongings before evacuating, leaving my laptop and much of what I need for my work this week behind generated a significant amount of anxiety. I have almost everything backed up elsewhe...

Today's workshop is the first of four weekly sessions in a short leadership development program. Designed to be highly interactive for the participants, a large travel bag with 27kgs of materials and resources is required! Looking forward to seeing how it goes. #facilitation #training #leadership

Never been happier to hear my friend say he's on his way but delayed. Fortuitously, my local has Christchurch's finest export, #Cassels' #MilkStout on tap this week and I might just have to have another while I'm waiting. #happyaslarry
