I get a burger at The Habit just infrequently enough to forget that they hate their customers and serve Pepsi products. Touché, The Habit. Touché.

What's the best Torrent index to download TV shows and movies for training my model? I assure you, this is covered by fair use. Trust me. Sure, I realize I've told this dumb joke multiple times. But since I'm subjected to the dumb news, I feel compelled to repeat it. Dumbly.

I’m quite curious who Mozilla thinks uses their products. My patience has run out, folks. It’s time for a technology reckoning.

I created a site on ghost.io for my partner’s HOA. After looking at the blog/newsletter offerings [gestures wildly] I figured they were a good choice. Mostly because @404mediaco@mastodon.social talked about their experience and I trust them. I hope Ghost recognizes how valuable it is to have their endorsement.

It's so strange that the local Sheriff email alerts regularly announce arrests for drug/weapons charges, various assaults, and shoplifting/burglary. I've never seen boasting about any white-collar crimes like wage theft and investment fraud. So strange.

I’ve run my own mail server since ‘98. Always Postfix, and later with Dovecot and OpenLDAP for virtual domains and mailboxes. It’s coming time to rebuild it once again because the CentOS version went EOL a while back. Sure, my IaC is all in Terragrunt and Ansible, so in theory I could stand up a new instance with too much toil. But should I? I’m thinking of migrating to a Fastmail Standard Business plan. Hopefully an API exists to import my 600+ email aliases. It would be optimal if they offered...

As someone who reluctantly provides desktop technical support to friends and family, I cannot more fully encourage OS vendors to add restrictions to prevent users from executing click-fix attacks.

RE: https://mastodon.social/@blogdiva/116910113050364181 How does one get their city added to this list? What an amazing service. I can’t wait to experience a full MAGA boycott.

I put in a new controller and drip system this week. Digging 50’ of trench in clay with roots was no fun. But I’m pretty pleased with how it came out.

I would like to run my own gist-style service. For snippets and whatnot. Maybe something that uses Codeberg under the hood. Maybe you know of such a thing maybe?

I would pay for a version of Bitwarden that integrated with the web browser properly. I mean, sure, I already have an enterprise subscription, but apparently using passwords with in a web browser isn't a supported use case.

I was gifted some Apollo hot sauce a while back. It’s insanely hot, even for me as someone who likes that sort of thing. A couple drops is plenty for a whole bowl of chili. The product ought to be called Totally Irresponsible.

Kids these days don't appreciate that when my generation started using computers, it was common for the bytes read back to differ from the bytes written. Sometimes by a lot. In very important ways. But it was still magical and all we wanted to spend our time fiddling with.

Please be advised of my new Facebook Marketplace policy entitled Tap Tap No Backsies. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

If you're having thread contention with `database.lock` just add a lock file to control access to the lock file. Use `database.lock.lock` to prevent any concurrency issues in the future.

I feel bad for the AWS team supporting the AWS VPN Client for Windows. I’m sure they’re all ashamed of their poorly skinned copy of OpenVPN, but just got busy with other tasks. Maybe if it was ad-supported they’d get some resources.

You’d think by now I’d stop using “isle” when I meant “aisle.” Well, you’re wrong.

Sure, I realize that like two other people on the whole internet know what I’m talking about, but I’m really bummed to see Lael Wilcox, who I admire more than you can imagine, announcing sponsorship by REI for her attempt to break the around-the-world cycling record. The REI Board is actively union busting and endorsing the current administration. It’s gross.

Also, the Titanium PowerBook G4 was the best computer ever made and I won’t entertain any incorrect opinions to the contrary.

I made a paste of Vaseline® and cayenne pepper to keep the ants out of my hummingbird feeder. Hopefully this does the trick. If not, I'm escalating to double-sided tape.

First, I just want to say that I am offended by the assertion that 2000 was more than 25 years ago. That is a vicious lie.

I've got a million-dollar idea: Couples Therapy, but for IT and Developers. What if each group didn't send derogatory and infantilizing memes about the other in private team chats? What if they talked to each other like adults? I think I'm really on to something here. Maybe just the threat of therapy would be enough.

I made an adapter for my orbital sander and vacuum today. The first attempt fit perfectly. Printed in TPU on my old Prusa. So satisfying.

There's so much whinging about Liquid Glass among my fellow Mac users who care about UX. Do what I do -- spend a whole day on Microsoft® Windows®. You'll be begging to return to content obscured by transparent controls and unnecessary blurs.

I got the layoff notice today. I knew it was coming, but now it’s official. I’m really, really not looking forward to doing chatbot video screening sessions and coding riddles.
