RE: https://fosstodon.org/@ThePSF/116555573783540910 The PSF Board has been developing a strategic plan and today we're sharing the high-level goals for community feedback. Full draft with detailed objectives follows in June. This plan will shape how the PSF spends its resources for the next five years. If Python is part of your world, we'd love to hear from you. #Python #PSF #OpenSource

A practical PyCon US note: if you are coming and have not booked your hotel yet, please use the official block. Hotel pickup is one of the boring but important parts of conference economics, and it has a real effect on what PyCon can support. 📌 #PyConUS #Python

Today’s news about OpenAI’s acquisition of Astral can be worrying, or even feel like we may be losing something we’ve come to rely on and trust. I hope everyone who is worried remembers that communities are more resilient than we sometimes give them credit for. And the Astral team is part of our Python community. (1/2)

Just wanted to leave something here, Jazzband might be over, but meeting strangers on the internet who decided to maintain something together, it's never going to get old.

After more than 10 years, @jazzband is sunsetting. I started it in 2015 because maintaining Open Source alone was exhausting. The idea was simple: shared access, shared responsibility. It's been an honor to watch it grow: 3,135 members, 84 projects, and a lot of code shipped together. https://jazzband.co/news/2026/03/14/sunsetting-jazzband (1/3)

Hey all, this @ThePSF blog post is special, it connects the dots, on where the PSF is financially, and how we’ll sustain it to serve its mission in the future. This transparency is key and an invitation to build together. You all know that Python became the connective tissue of modern computing because of everyone (maintainers, educators, library/tools authors, companies, user groups and conferences, you!) invested time into the Python community. https://pyfound.blogspot.com/2025/10/connecting...
