I was just thinking about #Mastodon accounts. If you migrate to another server, in theory your followers shift with you, right? Does that include followers you have muted? #ThingsIThinkAbout

The digital translation is identical for each of these phrases. • I'll stay here. • I'll just stay here. • I'll stay right here. • I'll be staying here. • I'll just stay right here. • I'll just be staying here. • I'll just be staying right here. No nuance.

Washed my jeans yesterday, and dried them in the sun. My grandma told me: dry whites in the sun, darks in the shade or they go crunchy. Sorry grandma. But I am thinking of you.

Discussing the unwatched half of tonight's movie, which is deferred to tomorrow. We think the hero thief will walk away alive, in the end, but without the girl.

Worked most of the day. Ate too little. Went to bed. The rain woke me up, and my stomach wouldn't let me go back to sleep. Just chewed my way through several handfuls of sunflower seeds. Back to bed. My alarm will wake me in about 6¼ hours.

Shout out from the northern hemisphere to folks in the southern hemisphere. Thanks for sending us so much daylight. 🌞 We'll start sending it back in about 4 months.

I am wearing two hoodies over my long-sleeved T-shirt, and NOT because it's sexy. It is cold, even under these bed covers.

The fish were moving a bit faster. I went out to take the water temperature. It's 9°C, which is above the threshold for feeding. So. I fed them a bit. They're pretending they don't know what's going on. Fine. The food will float on the pond until one of you grabs a brain and starts the whole school frantically scarfing the food. #fish #FishFood #pond

🌞 spring shunshine is then the media shines a light on the practice of shunning sinful young men whose fancy turns to spring. Or is it their spring that turns fancy?

Daffodils. Also, the first tulips are poking out of the ground. They will have red flowers, unless the squirrels have been busy digging up and reburying. #garden #spring #bulb #daffodil #narcissus #tulip

There's someone begging outside a grocery shop. Do you ask what they want you to buy them? What they're allergic to? No—they might glom on to you, tag along. That'd be uncomfortable. Do you choose items for them as you do your shopping? 🍏An apple, a bottle of water, and a package of mixed nuts are rich in calories and nutrients, can travel, and will keep without refrigeration. 🥯 A fresh muffin might crumble, but a bagel wouldn't. If the flour is fortified, it'd be nutritio...

Spinach and mushrooms. Is that one vegetable, or two?

One rubbery stick of celery has just had a centimeter sliced off, and it is now sitting in a glass of water, to regain its composure. Then it gets mayonnaised, and chewed to bits.

I just ate a carrot and a handful of almonds, which are plant-is so I'm counting it as a vegetable. And if it's not, then I'll combine it with the other nonvegetable, mushrooms and say "close enough". Along with the spinach, cucumber, and imminent celery, that gets me to 5 vegetables, today.

In their Mastodon profile, some people mention, "This is my personal account." It suggests they have more than one account. Do you think there's anyone out there typing both sides of the same conversation using different accounts?

I was just reading a web page. Halfway doen was a page element that said, they can't show you any custom advertisement until you accept the relevant cookies. My first thought was: Good. My second thought was: Then SHOW a random advertisement, so you at least get some revenue. My third thought was: Is it that you can't show a random advertisement because your advertisers don't want that? If they only want their advertisement shown to site visitors they can TRACK, then 🤬...

What is this cast-iron device? It's way up high in a kitchen from the days of wood and coal. It could be cranked from below, and would cause the horizontal bar to rotate. The text on the iron box that holds the gears in place says "James Tuck" and then some illegible words. Was this to open a roof vent? Thoughts? Feel free to boost. #IndustrialRevolution #CastIron #kitchen

I've been enjoying reruns of Big Bang Theory, but this evening I reached a tipping point. I am no longer willing to put up with Sheldon's baloney, and have begun fast-forwarding through those scenes. Ditto for Wolowitz and his astronaut braggery. I may soon need another show to watch. 😣

Making moussaka. I know it's a little lambitious. 😂 I'm just wondering about the bechamel or roux that goes on top. Both of those words are French, not Greek. Shouldn't I be making a bechamelaki sauce or a rouxtaka, or something?
