Photos of the week – 6-12 july: https://je.mostrom.eu/2026/07/31/photos-of-the-week-july.html It’s been a bit hotter than normal this week, around 25 degrees, and I found this guy along a forest road. He/she looked like that this was way too hot and the only reasonable action was to lay down in the shadow and wait for some cooler weather. This curlew (according to Google Translate) is driving me crazy, its nest is somewhere along the road, probably 75-100m away, and if you walk on the road ...

Photos of the week — 29 June . 5 july: https://je.mostrom.eu/2026/07/30/photos-of-the-week-june.html Let’s continue with some mixed photos from Iceland. We continued our quick tour of Iceland by looking at the waterfall at Selfoss Then some hot springs, but I didn’t get any nice photos of them … however, I like these that I saw when looking away from the springs Then some random photos Back home I suspect that someone was quite unhappy, I found this outside a shopping centre. I suspect...

I assume I could be like “shit, another cold summer day”, it’s 13 degrees, then I see the news about southern Europe and … “Great, another lovely, perfect summer day”

Tydligen så ska en rygg inte låta så mycket som min 😁 rätt skönt att ha fått en förklaring till varför min rygg är som den är och att det inte bara jag som är lat.

There is much excitement over filters/recipes/whatever in various cameras. I like the standard raw style in Ricoh GR cameras the best, more or less exactly what I see with my eyes. Except for B&W of course, where I use Hard BW or High BW.

Photos of the week — 22-28 June: https://jemostrom.micro.blog/2026/07/12/photos-of-the-week-june.html We went to Iceland for a few days, where we spent most of the time on various excursions. In other words, very little time for photography. But I think that being on these excursions have a big advantage: you get to “know” quite a few places in a very short time. So the next time you travel to Iceland, you can rent a camper, travel around and spending a lot more time at the various places … ...

Photos of the week — 15-21 June: https://jemostrom.micro.blog/2026/07/11/photos-of-the-week-june.html A few photos from the week, the ones I like the best are these two. I really like the high-contrast of the bridge, I think it works very well. And I think that the image of cup is very calming. Of course there was some Midsummer celebration also. The Bollibompa-dragon was there also. Then a few rendom images frames the village

En milsten i mina tyska-studier. För ett år sedan så provade jag att titta på en YouTube-video på tyska, förstod inte mycket. Provade idag igen och nu förstod jag stora delar 👍🏻. Kan jag tyska? Absolut INTE. Förstår jag mer tyska än någonsin tidigare: absolut. Skulle jag klara mig på en resa? Det tror jag.

I found a notebook that my grandfather wrote when he did his military service in the early 1900s. It’s full of songs of “dubious character” 😉, and I’ve always intended to scan it and publish it on my blog. But with the arrival of AI, I’ve lost all interest in doing this. I still love the note on the first page, I assume it was written years later when he had become religious: this notebook should be burned 😂

Traveling light: https://jemostrom.micro.blog/2026/07/07/traveling-light.html In 2025, I went to the UK (London, York, and Yorkshire in general) and when the trip first came up, I thought that I would bring my Z6 III with two or three lenses. But a week before leaving, I decided ”Nope, I’m just going to bring my Ricoh GR IIIx”. Since I’m not going back there anytime soon, I was a bit nervous since I wanted to capture some good photos. But, it wasn’t a photo trip, it was a trip to meet some f...

I just want to tell people that this summer I’ve mostly experienced temperatures between 8-18 degrees, warmest has been 23-24 degrees. I prefer this much much MUCH more than the temperatures in southern Europe. https://jemostrom.micro.blog/2026/07/07/i-just-want-to-tell.html
