Not that we need more reasons to avoid everything to do with Elon Musk, but here we go. Elon Musk’s family foundation took Tommy Robinson to Russia, says Musk’s father https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/jul/11/elon-musk-family-foundation-took-tommy-robinson-to-russia-says-musks-father

TIL In the Star Trek universe, LCARS stands for Library Computer Access/Retrieval System. It is the iconic computer operating system and visual interface used on Starfleet vessels, characterized by its black background, curved colored sweeping lines, and pill-shaped buttons!

Claude Design seems genuinely useful - except the usage limits make it hard to use practically.

RE: https://mastodon.social/@hrmnns/116779862380243090 Google simply cannot be part of European tech sovereignty. They remain bound by the American Cloud Act https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CLOUD_Act If they don’t like this reality then they need to lobby the US lawmakers.

RE: https://infosec.exchange/@securestep9/116884683751982510 This is very ugly. Unfortunately we are going to see a lot more of these vulnerabilities through AI Agent exploits.

RE: https://social.folkdata.se/@leanderlindahl/116862567819227527 @lehtimaeki@snapp.social and I recorded a video on Friday about out disappointing experience with Next Cloud. My conclusion about it is that Next Cloud isn’t a product but a basis for building custom solutions for these large deployments. I expect that each of these migrations means very specific customisation and integration work.

I guess I don’t understand diplomacy but I wish European leaders had more courage to speak out against USA. I don’t see why any European leaders should encourage Trump’s warmongering.

RE: https://flipboard.com/@jezebel/latest-lje9kl1iz/-/a-caZSSSy7SOeP4gPQh8JSWg%3Aa%3A1938864371-%2F0 I’m not claiming that we are perfect in Europe, but there is so much toxic culture in USA - from radical politics to extreme Christians, a crippling medical system, crippling debt. America is also the source of amazing achievements and opportunities, culture and ideals. They shaped our modern world. However I fear the balance is in danger of tipping so the toxic parts become predominant.

Either the American’s targeting is for shit, or they are consciously bombing civilian infrastructure.

Really? Does anyone “wonder”? Orhan is clearly playing games. He doesn’t have any intention of doing anything that puts pressure on Russia. Macron said it last month. We need to accelerate our transition away from fossil fuels. I don't expect we can get to zero, but we should go as far as possible.

Thank you Pakistan for doing something proactive along with others. To me it looks like Trump is out of his depth and Netanyahu is attacking whatever he wants to. What a total sh*t show. @chergert I can’t get a clear picture about RedHat. Is it now just another US Big Tech corp or is it a good actor in the FOSS world. It’s probably a bit of both. Sad that a global organisation is so inflexible. On a positive note, France is a super vibrant part of Europe’s tech scene. I hope you find a good landing zone. Bon Voyages!

@SecurityWriter @jmaris I’m amazed that PayPal still exists. I’ve never met a merchant or customer who likes it. I even used to know some PayPal employees and they weren’t very enthusiastic about it. Maybe it’s still popular in USA.
