    Bought a hot air rework station because I wanted to fix some surface mount stuff, but wanted something to practice on, so I stopped by the e-waste bin outside the local supermarket and found a small TV. Of course, it works perfectly! But I wanted something broken! Damn! #electronics #maker #repair

    @NiwlCraft It’s only really the actual exposure that needs to be in the dark. You could use a developing drum instead of trays. There are pop-up darkroom tents available with just enough room for you and the enlarger. Focussing and framing can be done in daylight, although it is easier in dim light so you can see the image on the baseboard or easel.

    @NiwlCraft You may also need a safelight. A red LED will likely work well, but test it. It’s common to do the “coin test” where you put a coin on a sheet of paper and see if there’s a white mark where it was after developing it. It’s unreliable. Kodak published a proper method for testing safelight effectiveness, you can google it.

    You’ve got to hand it to AliExpress, their tracking information is super accurate and detailed. It’s literally on the plane in the screenshot, in real time. If you buy something in the UK, the best you get from Royal Mail is “eh, maybe we have it”.

    @thomasfuchs @NanoRaptor Same, but I had enormous difficulty cleaning one of those keyboards last year. I ended up with some stuck keys that just wouldn’t cooperate.

    I am baking bread. This is bread 3.0. Versions 1.0 and 2.0 were like concrete, but still got eaten. Latest version seems to be better, and about double the size. Fingers crossed! #bread #baking #breadmaking

    @SecurityWriter I use it on my work device, as it has sensitive information. It’s not particularly inconvenient. Worth the additional security IMO.
