  Modern Standby (s2idle) claims another victim. Bought a Thinkpad E14 G7, but was surprised with the battery life. Turns out it drains around 40% when asleep for 12 hours. Firmware only supports s2idle (no S3 sleep), which isn't suitable for my usage pattern. Refund it is 😔 Maybe I'll hold off and get a Framework later in the year.   I've been building my latest side-project on @Codeberg, but the git operations are distractingly slow - sometimes double that of GitHub. Still beats actually using GitHub! Building on my own Forgejo instance, and pushing to Codeberg when it's ready to publish might be a great DX improvement.

  I spent half an hour this afternoon wondering why the switch I'd just installed didn't work. Turns out I'd wired it wrong on the first attempt, tripped the RCD, and I hadn't noticed everything downstairs was off when I checked different configurations. That's enough DIY for me for today.

  I'm not the biggest fan of AI at the best of times, but the recent unnecessarily hostile drama against the author of Booklore (a tool I fell for hard a few weeks ago) honestly makes me kinda embarrassed to call myself a "self-hoster" 🙈 I hope the fork gains some traction, and the author gets some well-needed internet-free time https://www.reddit.com/r/selfhosted/comments/1rs275q/psa_think_hard_before_you_deploy_booklore/

  After @FuzzyMistborn said they recently fixed their backup prunes, I went to check mine - and they were broken too 🙈 And had been for around a year. A quick fix and some manual prunes later, and my backups are 130GB lighter 🙌
