I want to talk a little bit about Iran. Unlike the majority of US residents (outside of members of the Iranian diaspora), I have been to Iran. I can't claim deep knowledge, just that silly emotional connection you get when you've been a tourist somewhere and then that place is in the news because of war or natural disaster. I suppose this is in fact a benefit of travel, that you don't restrict your emotional connections to only your place of birth. 1 of 7
