Domain TTLs across the Fediverse. Apparently relying on cache is rather unpopular. I think Fediverse admins would benefit from looking at this paper: https://ant.isi.edu/~hardaker/papers/2019-10-cache-me-ttls.pdfWe showed that longer TTLs have important performance benefits, since caching greatly reduces latency, even more than anycast, as well as reducing traffic.

Sadly, the thread that I wanted to reply to was deleted before I managed to finish my reply. The context is the European age verification implementation. --- I'm against the entire idea of creating an infrastructure whose only purpose is to discriminate people. It's a system that is designed to discriminate (age) while it discriminates (nationality), and that theoretically can be used to discriminate other aspects. I don't care how fancy and cool the cryptography behind that is....

Due to a severe security issue in Misskey-related software :hooves_icon: Hooves.social is currently rejecting all inbound federation and restricting all timelines to local-users. We are waiting for the patch that will address this issue. The coordinated release is scheduled in a few hours.
