  I keep thinking about how we need a federated and 'more resilient to no internet' code interaction mechanisms and my brain keeps going out to mailing lists with just a friendlier UI. Like, that's literally solving everything (barring the replication of the codebase, just have different git hosts/mirrors ig?)   - create new matrix account on a different server - send invite from matrix-org account to various rooms/spaces - matrix-org suspends account for no reason - the new server cannot federate with certain servers, again for no reason - I cant join space:nixos.org mTaRiX fEdErAtEs AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA holy shit #matrix really needs to get its crap together

  Finally got mmtk to work on OCaml! We now have (POC) OCaml bindings for mmtk, so an ocaml program can use any of the supported mmtk plans.

  Today's special: Successfully wasted time with handbrake because it kept un-syncing embedded subtitles from the audio/video stream, which kept driving me nuts. Moral of the story: don't use handbrake for a second time on a video if the first botches it up. Just try to find a smaller size version.

  Man, why are people hyping mythos so much. Not like Claude models didn't produce absolute slop PRs to #curl and others before and only now produce decent results like... now. In particular Anthropic has recently hired and basically double coated in 100$ bills one of the most reputable *human* cybersecurity researchers in the field, Nicholas Carlini, who's also the guy curating the PRs for the CVEs for them under his personal GH handle ATM.

  The hype around agentic coding just reveals one thing to me, if anything at all So many people absolutely hate the work they do and would be fully ok with slop. They don't care, they never did. They just want to push new features fast and make money.
