I have dealt with scam impersonators targeting people in multiple countries. I will say this, the Spanish are the least shy and are more than willing to ask "is this bullshit" very directly.

I am hooked on the #arpg #enshrouded - it is a top game for me. Very Breath of the Wild in scope and playability, without the climbing. The hardest boss isn’t the current last one, if s a dragon fight in an environment that is treacherous by design. No other boss fight uses the environment against you like this. And I finally figured out how to solo the dragon in short order. From a gaming standpoint, it hay feels like an achievement - an accomplishment - to me. #gaming https://onlyeddie.net...

The #linux project goes on. Had to abandon #Nobara as the he browsers froze on launch with a computer with modern hardware. #ubuntu just worked, so my buddy gets Ubuntu. We will see how it goes.

We tendered an offer and someone accepted. The role is filled. This process of hiring ... of the resumes that made it to me this candidate was one of 3 that didn't massively inflate their resumes. This process hurt.

Next step in my #linux journey - taking a dsktop battlestation with power and juice and putting linux on there and seeing if I can make it my primary compute system. I want to try somethign other than #cachyOS (which I enjoy). #Bazzite has not worked for me at all on many attempts. #pop_os kept having the loss of network need to reboot issues. #nobara has been problematic getting stuck in a loop from the latest updater (major version 43) trying to update to 44 and not getting there. Every year at the company holiday party, 12 people win teh opportunity to design the lunch menu for the week (M-R, we WFH F). This week was my week. We ended by doing high #tea for lunch. Coronation chicken salad sandwiches, cucumber sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam. Surprised the hell out of all my coworkers. I can't even try to do another lunch week. I can't outdo this one.

#linux reclamation box 9 underway. MacBook I got 10 years ago getting #qubesos installed as I type. I need to experiment with a desktop that isn’t Cosmic. In other news Steam on Linux won’t properly map buttons for Xbox style or switch style controllers, even if it reads them properly. Having to map buttons per game is an annoyance. I don’t want to buy a PS style controller - especially with recent Sony news - but I need to figure out why the mapping is gorked.

The #linux project goes well. People are using the boxes, and the only tech support question is around running updates and getting good old games to work through Heroic. I even got AAA games running smooth on my #CachyOS box. I have to spin up another box with #Nobara on it for testing heading to another gamer. I’m almost out of old systems being recycled. Which works, I don’t have any more people to whom I would give boxes.

@tinker would be proud. At #cyphercon there’s a room dedicated to trying and exploring Linux mint. Now, here it’s preaching to choir. But I had a good talk with the organizer about the process of moving people. Still working on the game plan for family. Set a friend up with Bazzite on a box with older graphics cards. Want to learn where the capability line is before cards need to be upgraded. Probably going to mint my family, but bazzite or Pop my brother in law. Need to get the blog up to w...
