I dreamt I was going around Bristol with two others doing normal things but the military aircraft and distant buildings being blown up we kept seeing weren't solid, they were like hot road mirage. We realised they were real, but we were in a different dimension or something.

Why is massive wealth unethical? Another million for a billionaire is like "Adding a bottle of carbonated water to a swimming pool while children looking over the wall are dying of thirst" https://vt.tiktok.com/ZS4kHYAEa/

The scary part of near 5 star reviews of Uber drivers is that these people don't know how close to death they are with them. They also usually brake too late and too hard. It suggests they aren't looking into the distance to work out when they might need to stop. They are just looking at the car ahead and reacting to that when it is about 10 metres ahead.

I just realised these are basically vegan Skips, which were my favourite crisps as a child.

I had a nightmare last night where every time I blinked and looked again something had changed, for example a copy of myself was standing completely still a few metres ahead of myself, or a locked door would be half open. I had goose pimples from the creepiness of it everytime something happen and was glad to be awake.

I swear some *seriously* weird record mastering decisions were made when putting The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess onto a double LP. I have never heard of, nevermind seen a smooth side of vinyl.

I just did numerous searches on duck duck go and Google to try and find any surveys that have ever been done about party political preferences and voting choices amongst disabled people. I can't find any. Considering that disabled people and spending on our lives is often an issue in elections this feels like a massive oversight. #disability #disabled #autism #PoliticalScience

I think you're doing a disservice to vegans if you produce a book with recipes that include "six slices of bacon sliced into strips and also use smoked "40g grated parmesan (optional)" Presumably you're meant to understand and use alternatives. Oh. The fucking chef isn't even vegan. Career chefs trying to use politics for business. Fuck off. #vegan https://www.broadsheet.com.au/melbourne/food-and-drink/article/shannon-martinez-smith-deli-degr...

Whenever I see a politician talk about "common sense" it irritates me. It just means they can't make a reasoned argument, or point to any evidence to support their point. They just have a biased opinion and don't even realise.

I have been awake for 24 hours and feel like I'm never going to sleep again. I nearly fell asleep at 4am last night, but then a plane went over and woke me up. I nearly fell asleep just now but some bastard started using a lawn mower.

If you want affordable housing and food and jobs for people, a reasonable choice is the Socialist Party. However, I will be voting for The Animal Justice Party. You'll vote for them if you like animals. Actually like animals. Or humans. And want them all to live. They don't exclude any of the Socialists ideas. Please read all the manifestos. https://vic.animaljusticeparty.org/ https://www.victoriansocialists.org.au/ Ridiculous idea I know. #vicpol #auspol

I remember in the mid eighties seeing a group based in London that was campaigning for the independence of the Baltic states from the Soviet Union. I thought, do they really think a few people are going to be able to alter the position of an actual superpower? It wasn't them specifically, but they got there within 6-7 years. And yes, I was an unusual teenager.

I literally never see people like Gary Stevenson mentioned in the media. I ( thankfully) think he is enormously important in elections. I don't know about the right wing ones, who are they?

I just had a taste of an off brand sancerre (Sauvignon blanc from the loire valley) and it instantly transported me 30 years. I used to drink a lot of French wine in the early 90s, but now I drink the local stuff. Australian wine is very good, but a different thing from French.

One of my minor victories in life is convincing my children that homemade pizza should have a lot of tomato paste on its base. I once had a friend visiting who complained mildly that it was too tomatoey and my kids have also said there wasn't enough tomato on a shop bought pizza. If you have tiny children, use this one simple hack to get more phytochemicals, obviously lycopene, into them, hopefully for the rest of their life.

I was just thinking- I haven't taken my SSRI for a few days, and I want to die. It's funny, they are marketed as "anti depressants" but are they actually 'stop you from suicide' pills? What is the percentage of people on these drugs in advanced capitalist nations again?

It's another instance of American exceptionalism that Trump is claiming his new tariffs are based on 'forced labour' when the USA literally allows imprisoned people to be used as slaves in its constitution. #auspol https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-07-24/us-trump-administration-new-tariff-announcement/106938462 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penal_exception_clause?wprov=sfla1

Nobody who is a junkie, addict, alcoholic was born that way. They were neglected, abused, violated, nearly always as a child, and are desperately trying to survive their inner world. The fact that they then get stigmatised for that is disgusting.
