So @textfiles@digipres.club scanned this collection I sent him and placed it at the Internet Archive - it contains documents I kept after working at Electronics Boutique in the 1990s. https://archive.org/details/computer-software-price-lists-compilation When working at EB, you could get games and hardware at severely discounted prices. Publishers were motivated in you trying out their stuff and recommending it. I got a lot of games from them. Most of what the Digital Antiquarian has been goi...

I went to raise my pledge on Patreon for a creator, and Patreon is hiding the "edit membership" control unless you just happen to wave your mouse around that area of the screen. Because I know about garbage UX, I figured it out, but... what is going on? What are we doing? What is the goal? How does anyone just figure this out?

@landelare The Patreon product management team being the shared, smoky hallucination of whatever black mold logs got thrown onto a pyre makes a lot of sense, ty 😀

Well, this is one of the coolest things. Muckrake, from the Brutman #PCjr forum, released this package onto the Internet Archive. He patched about 50 games that were not working in 16 color mode for the PCjr. https://archive.org/details/PCjr-16-color-patches Original discussion: https://www.brutman.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1487 I have plenty more to say on this later!

Two pitfalls I had trying to get Metal Slug working over Neo-Geo on a MiSTer FPGA: 1) My 512MB card ran out of room and my update_all.sh scripts had been failing. I had never bothered to read its output. 512MB was enough years ago when I started this. 2) Ya want "console" mode for Neo-Geo and the Darksoft ROM set for Metal Slug. I assumed arcade mode. 3) "Mr. Fusion" does a great job imaging an sdcard. Ms. Fusion saves you a step, so I used that. I did ha...

#cyberganked update I think there have been CRPGs where you encounter another party that has been trying to "advance" in the game world like yours. I'm using Daz3D (or hired actors) for all characters and Daz3D has a lot of clothes and accessories that you can buy and use in a hodge podge, to make opponents look like how your party might. #CRPG

Here is a little acid-inspired track that I have been working on, featuring some samples that should sound familiar to many who threw sticks of dynamite and punctured voodoo dolls at enemies in the late 1990s. "Pink on the Inside" by Crouch-Echlin Effect https://crouch-echlineffect.bandcamp.com/track/pink-on-the-inside Picture taken by me in the City of the Dead Haunted House, in 2013.

After three weeks we have hot water again. I'm done pre-cleaning dishes and meticulously scraping food away on dishes in the dishwasher because I had to hit them with cold for a month. Here's how I'm filling it now.

I have unsynchronized video clips that I'll attach, but I was able to get the actual gameplay for Paperboy showing 16 colors for #PCjr. The options screen eludes me (attached in a reply). I suppose there may be a way to just show the CGA options screen if I can't solve this odd criss-cross pattern. I should also get MartyPC working for local debugging, because DOSBox-X is not working for me in PCjr mode at all.

To celebrate the Buffalo Sabres making it to the second round of the NHL Playoffs, I shall be giving a firm but friendly slewfoot to the 5 animals in the house. The chief challenges for this are: 1. No ice surface 2. 2 extra feet Here's to a clean series, Buffalo fans are playing with house money. Also the draft lottery is a stupid and pointless sham. #HNOM

I'm at my childhood home, going through boxes I left behind when I moved to Colorado. Lots of computer game boxes but also this Ice Cream Cones cereal mini piano featuring Ice Cream Jones. If I can get it to work, this is 100% going to be used in a music track.

My Retron fell recently, and my copy of Super Dodge-Ball for NES shattered. The circuit board was fine, so I bought a glow-in-the-dark Nintendo cartridge shell off Etsy, and I am treated to the glow when I turn lights off each night before bed. Love it.

https://www.vice.com/en/article/ps5-digital-games-reportedly-now-have-30-day-online-check-in-drm/ I try to keep this feed positive, because negativity and sarcasm tend to take over. My use case is that I get consoles when they're old and rotate their connection to my TV. They can go months before being turned on. So I'd just lose games I bought. Sony has "leaked" that this is an "accident." Insulting! Guys, we made UI for this on "ac...

I have reached the point in the exploration of Eurorack modules that this link to a uranium-based CV generator seems like a good idea. The cost is more than I can justify, but my searches indicate that it takes a lot more uranium to make you sick than I would have guessed. https://www.nervoussquirrel.com/ore-some_volts.html
