  There's something inherently badass about doing type design whilst listening to Amon Amarth. Like yeah the music be like let's do a viking invasion, call Thor the god of Thunder and drink from a horn....whilst I'm on my pc working on my typeface just chilling lol.

  So I have to essentially do the entire statistics of the data I gathered and also write the rest of the dissertation up until the end of may/beginning of june (in my head it’s end of may). This may be it fam! Rip I swear to god I want to go back in time and slap myself.

  Went to a presentation today organized by a good friend of mine that teaches at an University here in Porto. It was a very interesting and cool introduction to touchdesigner with Zhang Qinzhe! I left the event thinking about the possibilities with type design and touchdesigner 🫠

  My brain is exploding after I have been looking at python files that weren’t mine trying to understand how in the world they were actually setup, but goddamn it I’ve managed to make the tool I needed to produce data for my dissertation work.

  The first Indiana Jones movie is incredible, "It's not the years, honey. It's the mileage." may be my new favorite movie quote. Also guy does dumb flashy sword moves and gets shot in the face by Indy is arguably one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.

  The first public presentation of my thesis will be on Friday, that’s a bit insane to me. I still can’t believe I chose to do an actual talk in front of a large audience instead of just presenting a random poster.   I’m now on my second year of teaching and it still is absolutely surprising to me when kids can’t use a keyboard and mouse. And these aren’t “poor kids” or without access to technology or something like that, they literally all have iPhones lol.

  I’m really happy with the fact I’m now starting the end stages of developing the first weight of my typeface, can’t wait to get started with kerning (said no one ever lol). Also it’s cool I’m doing this, a Masters and I have a job, I may be a bit crazy.
