It’s been almost a week since we picked up our new car. Only today did we get intel from the sales guy on how to turn OFF the “safety features” of Driver Assist, which causes you, when you give room to cyclists by moving left, to careen into said cyclist by forcing car “back into lane”. Fuck that! All these awful “safety” features should be TURNED OFF by default, not the other way round. You’ll kill people with this shit!

My house is a science experiment today, haha. I just made a batch of lime cordial. While it cools, I’m getting started on another batch of lotion. Going to try eucalyptus and spearmint scent (I figure it might give a cooling feel to the skin—we’ll see). And a friend I gifted some a few weeks ago requested more of the citrus concoction.

This evening, we took a friend to a candidate event to meet Kubs Lalchandani, CU Regent candidate and Jenn Kaaoush (cow-ish), Boulder County Treasurer candidate. Both are outstanding humans and terrific candidates for their respective offices. They are working their tails off to meet as many voters as possible and get their messages out there. Primaries are right around the corner!

When I see all the times and situations where Colorado’s “Democratic” Governor Polis has fucked Democrats, the state, the citizens in general, I look SO FORWARD to getting Phil Weiser elected to that office. He’s running against Michael “I’m the toadies of the right” Bennet, who has not only NOT participated in the democratic process here, but expects to win on name recognition and no effort. Weiser has been fighting Trump for years…AND WINNING against him! He’ll keep doing that as governor.

Just finished this puzzle! It was a fun one and just challenging enough with all the similar shades of green.

Today, Tom took the day off and we biked to brunch. Later, we came home, grabbed the pups, and took them to Michaels and the pet store to get supplies and new harnesses and leashes, respectively. They enjoyed their little adventure very much.

TL:DR Governor Polis is a piece of shit and Colorado cannot WAIT for him to leave office. // Gov. RIP Julie Dunvan. Sister to my best/oldest friend. She started life in a concentration camp outside of Dresden in Nazi Germany. She left this world surrounded by her sister and 4 children.

We just finished the third episode in season 12 of the Brokenwood Mysteries. We love these characters SO MUCH. It’s just such a fun series.

Yesterday, we went to hear Phil Weiser speak about his candidacy for governor. He is working so hard to help Coloradans as Attorney General. He’ll make a terrific governor. By comparison, Bennet has refused to attend damn near ANYTHING related to this race.

So happy today to have received a second handwritten reply to a letter I sent to a friend. But US Post Office! Really? Five days for a letter from Washington State to Colorado and SEVEN days from Texas to here? Abysmal! It used to take a max of four days to and from ANYWHERE in the US. No wonder you are a failing entity.

I will be very curious to see what happens next Saturday at the BoCo Assembly. For example, not any love AT ALL for Bennet as Gov. Pretty much a wholehearted endorsement of Phil Weiser (our kick-ass Colorado AG) for Governor. Although Senator Bennet is in my general age cohort, everyone in our Precinct caucus believes that he is “old and out of touch”. Says a lot when half the caucus are Boomers! Buh bye Bennet!

Today I got a wild hair up my ass and decided to hike the Gunbarrel Hill Trail. I went from the trailhead all the way to 95th street and back. 4.56 miles. I’m sun-kissed and a bit sore (that combined with a hard workout the day before), but I’m really glad I did it. ~400+ feet of elevation gain.

Don’t know why we woke up today to the stock market taking another giant shit. Was it again/still Operation Epstein Fury or because Texas Senator John Cornyn (sucking off Trump for an endorsement) caved and voted for the Suppress All Voting Evermore (SAVE) Act? It’s so hard to keep track?

    Super happy tulips!

I was proud to stand as a delegate today at the Boulder County Democratic Assembly. Happy to say that we got Jenn Kaaoush (cow-ish) on the primary ballot for Boulder County Treasurer with over 48% of the delegate votes!

Things interesting to note from the Boulder CountyDemocratic Assembly. Most significant, Hickenlooper didn’t even bother to show up or indeed participate in any way. He will go by petition. No, Hick, you will NOT get a papal blessing. Julie Gonzales, however? What an amazing firebrand! If elected, she would be the first woman and first Hispanic in that office for Colorado. Also, she is a young person with a lot of years to rep CO. Hick is 74 and needs to go spend time with his grandkids!

For anyone looking for a fun and well-written read, I just finished ‘The Banned Bookshop of Maggie Banks’. Highly recommend! Gave it 5 stars. Such a creative and well-written book. Looking forward to her next one, Must Love Books. Gonna add it to my to-read list!
