back on rewatching The Strain, nearing the end of season 1. one of the things i have really picked up in this rewatch is how hard The System fights to ignore what is right in front of them to uphold the status quo. in this, the vampires take advantage of both this and capitalism’s inherent weakness to greed to do what it needs until it’s too late
