i ran a bunch of old code though claude to generate some git usage data for a project, i've gotta admit, it made some good decisions, and some absolutely mind numbingly bad decisions, overall pretty interesting to see it try things, but i think it's still a slop machine.

The "90/90 Rule". With #AI, getting the first 90% of the feature built takes 10% of the time. But getting the last 10% (making it actually work reliably or correctly in production or at scale) takes the other 90% of the time.

"The ability for a codebase to be exploited is directly proportionate to the amount of code in the codebase, and also how often that code changes" — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZAZvm34rYs A strong argument for languages with fewer features.

Your neighbor is stuck in the #AI tarpit. they've outsourced all of their thinking and they're almost totally atrophied. you have 2 meters of cat5 cable, a french tuba, and 1 can of beans in your inventory. it's close to sunset. what's your next move.

It's bad that #AI tools encourage developers to go YOLO-mode-raw-dawg-extreme-core on everything. But this is next level bad actoring • https://www.thatprivacyguy.com/blog/anthropic-spyware

#AI users and meth users have a lot in common... both have front yards full of half working crap. They spend all their money to get a rush, work feverishly, without sleep, without clarity, oh this parallel is actually becoming a bit scary.
