Elderly lady made a substantial takeout order. Regular customer Kenny told me to tell the owner to bring him the check. Owner said the lady's order had already been taken care of by another customer. That's how we roll here. #RetiredLife #RestaurantLife

The only things I like about summertime are seeing Orion rise at 5 AM EDT at the end of July and seeing my wild morning glories grow and bloom as summer turns to autumn.

Do people really believe that AI "thinks" and "learns" like humans do? I just can't understand how one could be so gullible.

Overheard yesterday at the diner: “You ain't seen an ass whoopin' yet.” #RetiredLife #RestaurantLife

I'm to the point where "punch a Nazi" and "punch a Republican" are synonymous.

The NCGOP is attempting to prevent anyone except for Republicans from winning elections and citizens are just letting it happen. #NCnews

The NCGOP also wants to exempt law enforcement agencies from official state procurement procedures. Nothing shady about that. Okay, but also make all educational institutions exempt. Never in a million years. #NCnews

"Tough choices" is always code for "some nonsense conservative bullshit about to drop". No exceptions.

Know whom to ask for medical advice? Your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor. Know what NOT to ask for medical advice? A chatbot. Godamighty I can't believe the things some people do.

The insurance industry is socially accepted organized crime.

I want to see SCOTUS explicitly rule on whether or not robbing a bank is legal or illegal. Will the Fascists rule it legal? #IWantToSeeSCOTUSRule #USPol

You know, I just can't see paying three figures to a local nonprofit to hear an already wealthy person, a celebrity, yammer on about something or other. Something else I just can't wrap my brain around.

Today is the day for things to get on my nerves.

Got one long asphalt driveway crack de-grassed this morning. May try to de-grass another before any rain gets here.

A pox on my beloved NC-based Lowe's hardware for having no human cashiers available and of all the automated checkouts open only one accepting cash. To Hell with you!

Okay if the carpenter bees can gnaw through 22 gauge sheet metal they can have the damn fence.

Got more grass removed. That patching compound makes great fertilizer.

Working in the kitchen today. Heaven help us all.

    Rain sweet rain!

My next step in battle with the carpenter bees is thin sheet metal plates mounted to the fenceposts. Surely they can't gnaw through sheet metal.

Have you tried that Pocket Hose Copperhead product Richard Carn endorses? #PocketHose

We have more choices than we sometimes allow ourselves to see. Sometimes we are afraid to even admit it, much less act on some of them.

I'm tempted to tell people to just stop getting astronomical information from the mainstream press. They're peddling nonsense these days.

Sometimes I'm driven to question my own intuition and observation of reality. Then there are days like today where I independently discover that my intuition is spot on and my observations of reality are shared with, and confirmed by, others, so it's not just me. Being the newbie with the most to learn, I expected as much, but holy crap...

There is no way on God's green Earth I could have survived in the military. I would have been thrown out.

The United States of America is too superstitious for its own good, and too superstitious to be a global superpower.

I think this crud I've had has become a sinus infection. My sense of smell mysteriously vanished late last week and seems to come and go and I have persistent upper nasal congestion. I alao can no longer type a single post without having to edit it extensively thanks to the algorithms that make space around keys bleed onto other keys. I'm beginning to hate Apple.
