  So looking at the #GitHub alternatives, I’ve been hosting my own #Forgejo server for a while. However, it’s great for me but the collaboration part kind of sucks because you need an account on my instance to submit a PR or issue. I have looked at #codeberg and it seems great but it’s in Europe and the site feels sluggish for me compared with my hosted instance here US based. So wondering if there is anything maybe I’m doing wrong or missing in this situation.

  Whelp… I major rewrite, and now I test mobile… and just very disappointed that I totally missed considering mobile compatibility. Guess tomorrows work will be hot patches for mobile devices too have a better experience and actually usable. #furryfedi

  Well, I finally know why I’ve been so tired and not getting better no matter what I was trying. Turns out, after seeing the doctor… I have Hashimoto’s Disease. Thankfully, it should be able to get better with treatment. So I’m pretty excited to get back into doing things I want to do.

  So it has been a bit, but this past weekend I started testing the waters with different frameworks for a major update to @FurryFediverse and landed on #Astro. Right now it’s a #NextJS aging base, and the site is mostly static data with table data refreshing infrequently that hasn’t been holding up well. I also plan to do a UI overhaul to be more upfront with all the instances with better filters. I look forward to getting to work on it, and switching the database backend to open source #LibSQL...

  With the world getting more forced age verification. I feel good that there are people trying to do it in a “safer” way. Stumbled upon https://agekey.org and from first glances, seems kinda like a possible solution that can respect privacy. Love to get others thoughts on the security aspect of it like maybe from @soatok or others who are in the cyber security space. Again, I am not saying I’m for this change of trying to identify people online. That said, I do think we deserve something similar...
