  Let's learn a new game, shall we? Was given a great intro game tonight; we mostly talked tactics and rules rather than play turns, but I can see this one being a fun brain scratcher of a game.   It is the 1st of August and while I've decided to not take part in Blaugust, I am pushing ahead with a 30 day game jam challenge for myself. I was working today so only got a little done but I've got the bare bones of a theme, a game play loop and a restricted scope.   Last August I was signed off work, being bullied by a colleague. I was on sleeping tablets & anti-anxiety medication. By January, I thought I was going to have to resign and find another career. This week I have 3 days of events planned to mark the end the summer holidays for the kids. I don't have words for how good it feels to have energy and passion back for my job.   Been playing around with some tabletop game design ideas but I think I need a bit more focus. Clearly the world doesn't have enough game jams out there so I'm going to do my own.   Finally, I got back into GW2 for a little while this evening. Holy moly, there's a lot of crap in my inventory, and I have no idea what any of it is or does! There's probably something to be said for starting a new toon to relearn stuff but I'm going to try and just bring my main back. I used to love that sassy Asuran thief; I think I'd like to fall back in love with her.

  Work, illness, and life have gotten the way, and I've not been at the allotment in three weeks.
