  @vapourisation i recently jad similar issues like the ones you described and checked the fluxes. my old solder tin had 3.5% and works smoothly all the time, the newer tins have less (2%, 2.5%) and don't work as well... so maybe that's it?

  @vapourisation but it could also be the shape of the tip of your iron. if that doesn't nicely touch the place heat will not really flow....

  i guess there's quite a bunch of people just one or two #tutorials away from tinkering with the #hurd. especially now, that we can craft GNU/Hurd systems at ease with #guix it shouldn't be too hard to get into that field of magic
