So, when I’m left to my own devices with guitar strings etc to change, I like to watch classic movies I’ve never seen (at least not seen in their entirety). Tonight it’s Fritz Lang’s “M” and it’s hard to believe it’s from 1931. So many things I’ve seen in movies and television my whole life seem to have started here.

TIL #Firefox on #macOS plays monophonic MP3s only on the left channel. I know Firefox is going to say “we just use the operating system capabilities, it’s not our fault” but I can’t find any other Mac apps that do this wrong, including things like the Finder’s Quick View.

Oh, good: we&#39;ve entered the time of year when I&#39;m more likely to have my car windows rolled down, other people are more likely to have their car windows rolled down, and thus I&#39;m subjected to a whole lot more second-hand pot smoke. #seattle

@Starfia@mastodon.social All I know is that when they finally integrated MP3 playback (once it was no longer patent-encumbered, I think) they made a big deal out of saying they were going to use OS-native playback for almost all media, so the “experience” would match users’ expectations.
