Falls of Eva This is easily one of the most incredible #Waterfalls I have access to. A short 9km distance from a parking lot is this gorgeous place that provides endless exploration. Falls of Eva is the best and my most favourite image I have taken here. It reminds me of peace, of releasing fear, and breathing in the spark and excitement of life. The energy is contagious here. #landscapephotography #waterwednesday #waterfallwednesday #lpw #nature #naturephotography

I think it's cute that Flair recommends I arrive three hours before my flight - they're so naive.

#ThrowbackThursday to the image I sprained my ankle for. I wanted to capture the sunset from the peak - I had a suspicion that the sky would light up for #Sunset and match the #Mountain flowers. On my descent I stepped funny, bending my ankle and reinjuring my recently sprained ankle again! I then hiked 8km solo in the dark down to camp, I didn't make it back till midnight. Hiking out the final 9km of trail the following morning was very hard! #landscapephotography #photography #lpw #nat...

Last August my partner and I did one of the most incredible backpacking trips back to back, hiking more than 130km in 6 days (two of which were rest days) through the #CanadianRockies This frame was from on our rest days when we did a small hike to a nearby meadow to enjoy the panoramic views of the #Mountains #MountainMonday #landscapephotography #photography #nature #Canada #Jasper

As The Fires Settled (2022) During wildfire season in 2022 #JasperNationalPark in #Alberta was partially burnt and ravaged. Shortly after the fires reduced again I was able to drive through the park and take some photographs of the changed landscape - it was heartbreaking. Of course, worse years were coming the following summers... This image is one of the hillsides, partially burnt away with the dead remnants a deep brown red. #landscapephotography #photography #mountains #forestfires

It only took me two years - but, I've finally published my Drakensberg Trip Report Blog, recounting favourite and daily memories from my multi-day #BackPacking trip across the #SouthAfrica #Mountain range. If you'd like to read about it, and see some of the accompanying images, you can checkout the blog here! https://photography.ggiebelhaus.ca/posts/trip-report---the-drakensberg/ #photography #landscapephotography #lpw #blog #photoblog #africa

An additional image to my post yesterday - this incredible carving is hidden in plain sight, next to the concrete jungle of downtown #Vancouver. Carved into a massive trunk it feels like the face of an old tree spirit or protector of the forests here. Whomever carved it has surely captured my imagination over multiple visits here. #MonochromeMonday #forests #ForestSpirits #StanleyPark #photography

Meet George :) Paperwork is still being finalized, but, by the end of the day this lil (big) guy will be part of the family! He's a rescue, found in Saskatchewan last winter. We've had him for a week already and he's pretty well settled which has been great. And, despite his size, he's really very gentle which is wonderful ❤️ he's also annoyingly clever and smart. #puppy #dogsofmastodon #DogsOfFedi

RE: https://mastodon.social/@geoff_eg/116397647906193721 Fun fact about this image - this was the first large size print I did. It was certainly intimidating getting an international order for a 2m wide paper print! Thankfully, I was able to find a local printer in Australia so that I could save the client the otherwise enormous shipping costs. #printing #art #prints

A favourite image from my #BackPacking trip to #Yukon in 2022. I had planned the trip for end of August hoping we would be on the trail during the incredible transition from summer to fall colours - we may have arrived a week early, but, on our hike out the colours really started to show creating this gorgeous rainbow like patterns across the slopes. Reds, greens, yellows, purples, and oranges! #landscapephotography #photography #canadianphotographer #lpw

I almost missed #WildlifeWednesday so, here is a last minute submission - a cute female mallard resting in a small pond. Despite being general jerks, and very common, Mallards are actually one of my favourite ducks. The females have that incredibly gorgeous purple flair under their wing that I always love seeing. #ducks #mallard #wildlife #waterfowl #wildlifephotography #photography

Happy #MountainMonday everyone :) Today I share a favourite from a trip years ago into the high mountains of the Assiniboine Range in #Canada during fall when the golden larches were at their absolute peak. The golden larches dotting the landscape in golden colouring at every turn. Highly recommend backpacking this region. It is absolutely stunning. #landscapephotography #landscape #photography #Mountains #lpw #RealPhotosofRealPlaces

The Sphinx II (2022) I took this shot in the high alpine meadows just south of #Jasper #Alberta, in a park that few actually visit in this mountain region. My sibling had suggested we go backpacking through this area on a weekend trip we had the opportunity to enjoy together. This scene was without a doubt, the highlight of our hike as summited the ridge to see this sweeping valley. #MountainMonday #landscapephotography #nature #photography #canadianphotographer #RealPhotosofRealPlaces #lpw

RE: https://flipboard.com/@cbcnews/sports-89hngi0lz/-/a-bOMt4TO6Q7Cisc8uRkkjgw%3Aa%3A107108217-%2F0 Insane that 1) they even have an office in Vancouver, and 2) that they think that have any jurisdiction and purpose in #Canada or at any event in Canada. I hope #Vancouver tosses these yankee losers out if they try to show up.

Something to brighten your Tuesday. A gorgeous ethereal tree I photographed this past fall during a heavy spell of mist and fog. To me, it reminded me of the Erdtree you see in #EldenRing video game on the games cover. #ThickTrunkTuesday #photography #Skyrim #art #artphotography #Canada #photographer

Citadel (2022) I edited this image last night. I've been trying to crack it's puzzle for years and failed, struggling with it's colours and tones. I desperately wanted an epic shot here when I visited #Yukon in 2022, I'd scoured maps to find a suitable foreground for this peak. But, the weather didn't co-operate the day-of. I am thrilled to finally share it. #monochromemonday #mountainmonday #lpw #photography #mountains #monochrome #Canada #Canadianphog...

One of the worst things to happen in the last 10 years is the replacement of craigslist with facebook marketplace - not that craigslist was incredible, but, at minimum I didn't have to associate a public profile with it or be subject to reviews by angry buyers that can't read an listing properly.
