  Whoa — back when I lived in California, our skies turned orange with the smoke from big fires. But I never thought that I would see the same thing here in the DC area, especially from fires thousands of miles away. And this morning, it's not orange — it's gray. Literal smoke, hanging in the air, like there's a grill cooking next door. #climatechange

  Days like today I get notifications from the power company that there is excessive demand and I should turn off my air conditioning until 7pm; and I wonder: there are at least a dozen data centers within a couple miles of my house; are they turning off their cooling too?

  The clearest and simplest explanation I’ve for how so many people feel right now: “Trump has sucked all the joy out of our country.” 250 years should have been a huge celebration. Instead it feels like the end of the great experiment.
